We were lucky to have our room facing directly to the ocean with great sunset views. While Coral Bay is very small, and any location is convenient, the resort felt well positioned with just a hop across the road to the beautiful Bills Bay. The accommodation is a little tired, though still very satisfactory and clean, and offers everything you need for an enjoyable stay, arguably the best you're gonna get in Coral Bay. The food was a bit hit and miss, but couldn't say the meals were bad. It has a lively pub that has good music playing. It can get a little loud in the late afternoon / early evening, but nothing that would really bother most people, and by 9-10pm it becomes very quiet and peaceful. During the day time it has a great atmosphere with light music playing and the beautiful breezes coming from the Indian Ocean. Overall I enjoyed my stay here, and would definitely recommend it if travelling to Coral Bay. If I'm back up this way, I would stay at this resort again.

The hotel is located right across the road from the best beach in Ningaloo Reef – location, location, location.

Caters for families as well as individuals. Crystal clean pool, huge grassed area for kids to play in, onsite laundry, bar, restaurant and bottle-shop. The beach is right across the street and walking distance to the small group of shops. Loads of onsite parking.

Rooms are large and spacious, the beds are very comfortable with linens provided, air conditioners work well. Very good room lighting and loads of storage space. Convenient kitchenette with toaster, kettle, pots & pans, cutlery & crockery, iron/ironing board, good wattage hair dryer, but no room safe.

The bathrooms are on the small side, however they are very clean, good water pressure, nice toiletries and soft towels.

I can’t rate this property as five out of five because it has some minor maintenance issues to attend to, however the staff are great and doing the best they can in a remote location.

Ningaloo Reef / Coral Bay is amazing and a must see destination.

We stayed in a ocean view room view was amazing the room itself was well equipped and adequate but definitely needs renovating it was clean you couldn’t fault that but for what we paid i would have expected more. The pool was nice the place is definitely a family orientated resort there is plenty of room for the kids to run around safely while the parents can be adults again and have a beer knowing their kids are safe. We don’t have children but saw families having a great time we personally wouldn’t stay here again but only because the cost doesn’t warrant the room, we stayed the same amount of time in a resort in Exmouth for the same price and was definitely a lot better but it did what we wanted and the staff were great the food was great and we love coral bay

The RAC operates this so called resort. Actually it’s a motel with a small swimming pool and bar. The buildings themselves are vintage 80’s and have not been updated since they were built. This includes the tiling which is actually corroding away to dust! The outside is not much better with rust holes in the staircase and metal railings that will probably fall down before long...BUT the location is magical.

The resort ( motel) has a great view of Coral Bay and you are literally steps from the sand/reef. This is probably the only reason why the RAC can charge over $300 per night and be fully booking for the next several months even during a pandemic!

If you want to visit Coral Bay (which is fantastic), be prepared for very ordinary accommodations. Nothing else in this little hamlet is any better so come prepared for a very non-luxury experience, and you should still have a good time. Finally the second star was awarded for the nice staff.

Great service ! Before we even arrived, a text message had been sent to us that our room was ready. During check-in, the young lady from Malaysia was a real delight; very friendly and professional.

We were so pleased with the Garden View Apartment that we were given as it was the closest to the pool and even had ocean views from the balcony. There was a separate air-conditioned unit in the Master bedroom and also in the open area where the other beds were. However, due to the 40 degree heat and humidity, the air-cond seemed not to function once the day progressed but it cooled down the apartment at night again. The apartment was serviced daily and the housekeeping crew were another nice bunch of people.

What a fantastic location with the main beach just 100m away. Here, you could see the blue spotted ray, huge spangled Emperor (snapper) and under the floating platform, trevally is seen. And just around the corner at Paradise Beach, there were better corals and more fish to be seen.

The main shopping area was also within walking distance with 3 restaurants, a bakery, a supermarket and other shops.

The sand dune was just right next to the resort where most people went to view the sun setting. However, you could view the sunset basically anywhere with the ocean in sight.

There was a public laundry area but with only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer. We did our laundry twice and thank goodness both times, nobody was using them. $1 coins required with $5 for the washing machine and $4 for the dryer. Detergent was provided.

What a memorable 25th wedding anniversary we had ! Will love to come back here again.

The cleaning staff were very pleasant, some of the reception staff were good, but others seemed demotivated and disinterested and did not seem to have much local knowledge around snorkelling sites and access.

I really dislike leaving critical reviews, but others need to be aware of the reality of this resort. We were excited to come to Coral Bay and enjoy our stay, but unfortunately, this was probably the biggest disappointment of our entire time in WA.

The rooms are clean and well equipped, but very tired. Despite the expensive room rates, the facilities are functional at best with minimal TV content, 500Mb wifi per stay and uncomfortable beds.

The view is probably a highlight, but it is difficult to comment for sure given that on our second day a sizeable marquee was erected on the lawn in front of our room, obscuring a large part of the scenery.

The resort can in no way be responsible for the fact that after the 2022 coral spawning and fish-kill, the reef is essentially dead close to the beach and a lengthy swim, walk, drive or combination of all of the above is required to access any decent areas of living coral, but perhaps it is time they adjusted their prices to reflect the tired facilities and severely damaged coral.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ningaloo Reef Resort due to its proximity to the nearby beach and food outlets. The resort felt secluded and everybody was friendly. Happy hour deals were great and the food options were fantastic! The room was quite small for a family of 4 sharing 1 bathroom but the room was tidy and equipped with a small kitchen. The patio we spent most of the time using was right near the swimming pool providing direct access to resort facilities. Overall the stay was fantastic with great Wifi and accommodation.

Absolute favourite of this trip around WA, hotel was fabulous, with amazing views of the beautiful Coral bay, room was clean and regularly serviced with everything we needed. Bar and restaurants on site were very good, good food at reasonable prices with entertainment thrown in too. Now an RAC resort and being upgraded to reflect their quality will definitely return

My wife and I stayed here two weeks ago and we turned up without high expectations as some of the previous reviews had been less than complimentary. It was the only accommodation available at short notice in Coral Bay/Exmouth so we decided to ignore the reviews and take the risk. How surprised we were! The accommodation was excellent, clean and well-appointed. There was a restaurant and bar on site where we ate every night and had excellent meals! The staff were wonderful (mainly European travellers) and met many holidaymakers who wandered along from the caravan parks to the 'Local Pub'. There is a sunset viewing platform next door (another great place to meet people) from which we watched spectacular sunsets every night. The entire street can be walked in 5-10 minutes so once you are parked (free) you can put the keys away. Fuel is available in town for the return journey to the airport.

I was expecting a lot more for the money this holiday cost.

Top whack prices for accommodation that is literally about to get demolished.

The accommodation is terrible.

There is no shade over the kids pool! Nothing, no shade cloth, no nothing.

December in Coral Bay and the kids can’t play in the pool as they will die of heat exhaustion after 9:00.

We have a room overlooking the pool and the beach that is advertised to sleep 6. Technically it can but really it can’t.

The only entrance is into the apartment is main bedroom where mommy and daddy sleep. So if you have an afternoon nap, no one else can come in or out without waking you up.

The other 4 beds are in the only other room (the living room). A bunk bed and a fold out sofa bed. Again, no storage at all. Nothing, nowhere to put suitcases etc.

No GPOs anywhere’s except one in the kitchen, there is none accessible in the main bedroom either.

If other people staying here want to get out early, they can’t without waking up mommy and daddy. The design of the accomodation is absolutely terrible.

The place is falling to pieces. Rust everywhere.

There isn’t even a vacuum cleaner which is much needed for the sand that gets everywhere.

The kitchen has a tiny electric 2 pan hot plate that can cook a sausage in about 40 minutes, no oven so you can’t cook for your family. There is no cupboard space for food even if you had it.

You have to eat out where the food is at extortionate prices, I mean really, hideously expensive and very “bar food like”.

There is no storage for anything. No drawers, just a cupboard.

They don’t tell you on the booking that this place is getting demolished very shortly to make way for RACs new resort.

Next door and the ones up from that…
The fly screen doors, swing free and do nothing but slam so you can’t get to sleep even if you wanted to.

RAC have no signs up here at all as it is way below their standard but they still sell it as their standard such as Monkey Mia.

If anyone leaves a good review about this place they’re lying through their teeth and will be an employee.

I am gutted that this place has turned out to be like this. I flew my partner and our children up and I drove up with all the fishing gear etc which cost us a fortune.

This was a huge mistake. Please do not stay here, go to Monkey Mia where RAC have spent their money.
