Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Wow this place is a hidden surprise. Next to Doncaster Westfield it’s above Bunnings but is like being in a 5 star property more like a Sofitel than a mecure. Easy parking on arrival, great restaurant, amazing walk in pool and then you get to your room. This design is modern, the beds you just sink into, wifi and Foxtel I was shocked as it’s in Doncaster but as good as a five star city hotel Highly recommend

WOW!! When I recently heard on the grapevine that the dining options at this incredible Mercure Melbourne Doncaster had elevated to and even higher level, I had to come check it out. Any excuse to revisit one of the best hotels in Australia made my decision to visit for a few days an easy choice. So after a year all I can say is Fantastic. In addition to the existing stupendous rooms and facilities, finished with the highest of materials and quality the revamped dining will impress and satisfy the most discerning diner. In fact the fare on offer will excite any foodie and tick any culinary desire and truely take you on a fulfilling and satisfying dining adventure! Cudos to the team from executive chef Daryl to the most professional team of chefs toiling over every detail of your meal selection. The finest and freshest of ingredients shine with every morsel. Oysters! Whagu fillet, sirloin, roast chicken, spectacular king fish, salmon and salads, the choices go on and on. The 5 or 7 course tasting plates or the plethora of other dining options guarantees options regardless of tastes. As always the rooms are amazing. The facilities including the pool, gym and inside and outside lounge space offer the hotel guest many places to relax or catch up with friends or even to conduct some business in an informal setting. The hotel also provides more formal business gathering spaces of the most professional standards(including access to great coffee!). At the helm the most welcoming GM Mr Cameron rallies the most warm and profession staff. Ms Susan from f&b with Clair, Stephanie, Lily, Daniela along with Kimie and Nicholas in dining. Huge thank you also front office angels inculibg Elle and it has been an incredibly hard decision to declare my team member of the stay but on this occasion my award goes to the most lovely Kaki who went over and beyond to deliver the most professional, courteous and kind service! In summary the Mercure Melbourne Doncaster delivers exceptional accommodation within reach of Melbourne CBD by car or train , is incredibly well priced for the 5 star experience and is even easily accessible directly from Melbourne Airport with the local bus service 901 (about an hour or so). On-site parking, great food, great staff and great rooms, beds and facilities, the Mercure. Is setting the standard for others to follow. Well done everyone. Mr Dean

I am writing a review after going to the buffet breakfast this morning with my family. It was exceptional. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Taylah was so kind and friendly, as well as professional. There was food and even baby chinos for the kids who under a certain age are free. The view of the city is one of the best in Victoria I would highly recommend this place. Thank you so much. We will be back!

Midnight checkin after a late arrival into Melbourne and we were greeted by Amazing Julie. She made check-in seamless and made sure we were comfortable especially with a late night. She recommended us book in for a buffet breaky in the diner for the morning (we were heading out very early next day). So happy we took her advice, catching the sunrise in the mornings were so pretty. Food was delicious, fresh and to our liking. The Hotel is in a great location, facilities are great. Pool is lovely. Great views in many areas of the hotel. Staff are some of the best I’ve come across. Can’t wait to visit again.

Stayed here for just the one night and couldn’t fault the hotel. Checkin and checkout was quick and seamless. Didn’t dine in the restaurant as we had an outside dinner booking with family. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this side of Melbourne especially given it is right next to Doncaster shopping centre.

We booked 8 nights for a family room of 4 but sadly, the small beds, lack of storage space for a family for a week and a relatively small room size meant we didn’t have room to move nor store many clothes during our stay. I spoke to the manager who was brilliant and took in all my comments (good and bad) and I have seen some of the issues fixed already during our stay. Due to space and comfort, I requested the adjoining room for the final three nights and this really made our stay a lot more enjoyable but put on a lot more money on to our holiday. The staff and management at this hotel are some of the best I’ve encountered at hotels in Australia and the response to constructive feedback has been extremely fast and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel due to the rooms, cleanliness, pool and fitness facilities and staff but if staying with families, speak to the hotel first so they can assist you in getting the right room/s to suit your stay.

Room was comfortable although a little taken aback at first by clear glass between shower and bedroom. Limited room between bed and walls. Hotel is modern in appearance although having not been there before, was unaware reception is on 3rd floor. Restaurant food was okay although have to say meal was cooked much more than my preference. When server asked if meal was okay, I provided that feedback, they looked at me, picked up plate without stating anything and no one came near me again. Shame as I would have had dessert and another drink. Interestingly second night when I finished my mains, no one came near me. Again would have liked dessert and a drink but after 10 - 15 minutes realised no one was coming and no one was making any eye contact. Breakfast team were good. Like most dining areas in hotels, an extra staff member would help instead of being so lean (or maybe they were avoiding me). Check in/out staff seemed lacking in urgency and understanding of what to do quickly. Signage to get to my room was lacking on floor check-in (3rd floor) team may have been distracted by presence of Canadian World Cup team.

I was turned away with my 7yr old at the time of check-in by the manager named Aki at Mercure Doncaster because I could not pay the full bond amount which was NOT SPECIFIED anywhere in my reservation confirmation. I have been an accor member since 2019 and the behaviour from this "manager" was very offensive and unprofessional of him.
