They were fantastic and the place was stunning.
As a tip, the recent reviews for the accomodation are showing up on tripadvisor under Rosevears Vineyard Retreat, but you will need to track down River Vineyard Retreat to book with them.
The cellar door is open and the vineyard is being run by Brown Bros, very picturesque.
Great spot for dinner at the waterfront tavern down the road.
There is a barbecue pit and we bought our food from the Coles supermarket about 25minutes drive away and had a nice bbq dinner.
The accommodation is new it looks like it has only opened recently. The unit we occupied had superb views of the Tamar River and the winery.
We had breakfast included and they deliver that each day and put it in your little bar fridge. There was no minibar so if you want snacks and drinks you will need to bring them with you.
There is floor to ceiling glass which allows you to sit on the lounge and enjoy the view. My only concern with this is it may get a little hot in summer because the blinds don’t really block out anything. We stayed in the middle of winter and the sun beamed in. There is air conditioning though.
The bathroom was great it had a huge bath which you could sit in and look out at the view. If your staying in winter like we did than you will be pleased to hear that they do have electric blankets on the beds.
I would certainly stay here again next time I am in Launceston. The staff are very friendly and the units offer great views and it’s good to be out of the city but still being close enough to drive to the top restaurants for a bite to eat.
A$190 got us a one bedroom apartment (#11) with ceiling to floor windows overlooking a vineyard. Unfortunately, it also overlooked A7, so there was some road noise. The apartments are cantilevered and perched up on the hillside. The units are individually owned and vary a bit. Ours had a spacious bathroom with the biggest shower enclosure and deepest tub either of us had ever seen. It had a huge lounge, compact kitchen area, interesting lighting and a balcony. I’d classify this place as contemporary minimalist.
Each day a generous continental breakfast was left in our refrigerator – cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, milk, bread, butter and jam.
We were told when we checked in that we’d probably see a lot of millipedes (we did) and we were advised to read the information in our room regarding the spiders we might encounter on the property (Redback, White-tailed and Huntsman) and which of these would bite. Fortunately, we didn’t have any run-ins with spiders.
We were also warned about all the wildlife on the road behind our apartment and they weren’t kidding. We saw more animals driving from our apartment to the main road than we’d seen the entire trip. Bennetts wallabies and Tasmanian pademelons were out in force at dusk and we saw Tasmanian native hens just about everywhere.
We sampled the estate's wines in their tasting room, but were unable to try out their restaurant as it was closed for dinner during our stay.
I highly recommend Rosevears Estate to couples wanting a nice weekend getaway or to couples looking for an upscale place to stay on their travels within Tasmania.
Note - it is a bit in the middle of nowehere - don't go expecting disco's / bars / restaurants!

We only stayed 2 nights but it was by far the best accomodation we had in our 2 weeks in Tassie. Did I mention that it was clean! Even the shampoo etc were top quality and came in a full size rather than those nasty little bottles of toiletries found at most places.
High recommend these apartments as they are good value for money and set in beautiful tranquil surroundings and only 10 minutes drive to Launceston.
"The north west retreat no 6 was great for morning sun and sunsets, we loved it, nice furnishings too. But you won't find Rosevears Estate anymore, you have to look for River Vineyard Retreat"Read full review
