We (two grandmothers) stayed in the Kona retreat, which has a spectacular view, and all amenities in kitchen making it easy to self cater, and also to support our family who were camping in the Antechamber Bay campsite. The beds and pillows were really comfortable, an unusual experience as in most others, this are what lets them down. As long as you have a four wheel drive, I highly recommend this property for a getaway, for a couple, a group or larger family. Two bathrooms, two Queen size beds, and a third bedroom with 2 bunk beds make it a comfortbnle experience for a larger group. Sitting on the verandah watching the skies and ocean is the perfect way to start and end the days. Thank you Kate and Andy.

We had 5 nights in Nat's Retreat & thoroughly enjoyed our stay even with a slight disruption of a power outage on the first night - the open fire kept us warm & a generator gave us some lighting. The staff worked hard with the power company to have power restored the following day.
It is a National Trust listed house & so certain aspects of the house can not be changed & you need to be aware that you have to go outside (under an awning) to go from the lounge, dining & kitchen area of the house to the main 3 bedrooms & bathroom - just need to keep your shoes on & a jacket nearby.
The view is stunning over the Bay particularly at sunrise & sunset. The birdlife abounds - watching a pair of sea eagles soar overhead was a delight. Then you are greeted by the sheep on a regular basis.
The drive into the house from the road can be a bit bumpy after rain but it is achievable, just take it slow & allow some extra time if you need to make your way to a booking such as seeing the sea lions.
It was handy to have the use of a washing machine when staying a number of days.

We stayed at the Kona for 5 nights at the end of November - amazing sea views, comfortable beds and everything we needed supplied. We loved waking up to the ocean and watching the sheep right out the front of the property. So much incredible wildlife and idyllic location made this the perfect place to relax. We loved having a wine on the deck and appreciating the views. The two private beaches were incredible, crystal clear blue waters and not another person in sight. The Kona was the perfect base to explore KI, an amazing base to unwind after a day of exploring. This was truly a special holiday, we will definitely be back (next time with a 4wd so we can do some more exploring)!

We spent 5 nights at Nat’s. This farmhouse, with its 4 bedrooms is rather large, would be better suited for a family, however, we chose it for the spectacular view and the easy access to the two incredible beaches - both had beautiful turquoise water and there was not another soul in sight! The amenities were very basic - we likened the experience to renting a cottage in Canada. We did our grocery shopping on the way to Nat’s, at the Penneshaw IGA. The surrounding farmland was pretty and we saw lots of sheep and kangaroos and a number of different birds - our favourite was the fairy wren. The hosts, Kate and Andy were great! Kate teaches Pilates in Penneshaw. I highly recommend taking her class if you get a chance. We also did a day trip into Flinders Chase - about two hours each way, but well worth it! Don’t miss The Remarkables and the Admiral’s Arch.

Huge thank you to Kate and Andy! We booked all three houses (Nats, Kona and Shylies) for three nights and had the most magical stay. Our families absolutely loved all of it, from the unbelievable views to the beautiful accommodation which has everything you need. We definitely plan to be back :)

Had a tranquil stay on a farm, a real working farm. The hosts were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We stayed at Kona and it was extremely well kitted out - almost any facility or basic cooking and cleaning tools there. Lovely kitchen and space to move. Great views from almost every room and peaceful.
We had use of the sport electric bikes and that was fun. Expect a bit of dirt and mud- it is a farm!
Thoroughly recommend a stay.

After recently holidaying this year on the Amalfi Coast we thought nothing could surpass that experience but our recent visit to Ante Chamber Bay Retreats changed all that!
A pristine environment, crystal clear coast and subtle luxury in the environs of ‘Nats’ accommodation ensured a memorable weekend.
Not unlike Amalfi without the crowds, Ante Chamber Bay Retreats and in particular Nats, is a pearl in the coastline of the Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island Region. Fortunately, this Northern area of the island was untouched by recent bushfires. We enjoyed fabulous weather, understated luxury in the beautifully appointed rooms and brilliant service from our engaging hosts, Kate and Andy. Our stay afforded us access to a private beach, amazing walks through stunning coastline and panoramic, unsurpassed views.
We will definitely be booking another stay at our little slice of Amalfi - Ante Chamber Bay Retreats!

I gave an excellent rating because Nat's place was an immersive and important historic place to stay. Facilities provided were very good but don't expect perfect resort style as Nat's place is far more of an experience aligned with the countries landscape and seascape combined with birds and kangaroos plus the odd sheep.
We completely felt relaxed and at home in a tranquil space with magnificent views, comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Kitchen was well provisioned and pantry items were generous. Its the perfect escape from the humdrum of city life to allow relaxation and restoration of self.
Thanks Kate and Andy for sharing such a magnificent location.

We booked both Kona and Nat's for a large family celebration.
We couldn't have asked for a better place or location...perfect weather, amazing views and many memories made.
Our host Kate and Andy were fantastic, we hired their huge charcoal spit for our planned long lunch and we even enjoyed having a music jam with them!
We will definitely be re-booking at Antechamber Bay retreats ASAP!
