Just an hour from Brisbane set on a stunning 12,000 acre property, Spicers Hidden Vale is a true hidden gem. Hatted restaurant, Homage has a dedicated team of chefs who create masterpieces based entirely on local produce. Homage has been relocated to the original barn, after devastating fire in the historic homestead in April 2018. You can set your own pace - for those wanting to relax, there are picnic points, in room massages and beautiful lap pool with mountain views to relax in. For those wanting a faster pace, there is mountain biking, bush walking, ATV property tours and archery. Being a nature refuge, the land is abundant with native wildlife including hundreds of Kangaroos and Wallabies and regular koala sightings. Spicers Hidden Vale has 34 rooms. Choose from Valley View Rooms which overlook the mountains, a cottage for groups or for the ultimate experience, a Luxury Suite which is stand alone with spacious lounge, spa and private verandah.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for 1 night and it was a perfect way to celebrate a birthday. The ambience, facilities and service was superb. We stayed in the Heritage suite which was a gorgeous cottage with plenty of room for a couple, large comfortable bed, lovely furnishings, large spa bath and a beautiful outlook. Dinner and breakfast in Homage restaurant were delicious. The view over the valley from the restaurant verandah and the garden and surrounds around the cabins create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed a Thursday and Friday night on a breakfast and dinner package. The room was a simple bedsit room but it was beautifully appointed and super comfy. Amazing views across the valley too!
The dinner was WOW! Both nights were incredible. Breakfast was also awesome, and loading up on the best Bacon & Egg Burger was a great idea before covering 28kms on mountain bikes.
Highly recommend this place for a chill out, or some Mountain biking in luxury as we did.

The location is great. Peaceful with outstanding views. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The Homage restaurant was excellent, in its new building. My wife and I though were disappointed in our room. We thought it lack a quality finish for a resort that purports to be upmarket. We had no wi-fi for our stay even though I reported the problem on arrival. The gutters on our room were cleaned while we were there, but the workers didn't remove the leave debris from the balcony, which made it unusable. Not good enough!

Hi 994robertt Thank you for your feedback and we really appreciate your honesty. We are so pleased you enjoyed our retreat and our amazing Restaurant Homage. We do apologise you experienced some problems while staying with us, that is totally unacceptable someone blew debris onto your balcony and did not clean it up. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We really do hope to see you again in the future. Kind Regards The team @ Spicers Hidden Vale.

We booked the 2 bedroom suite for our stay, being three friends we found the suite to be nicely decorated and cosy. We had a small sitting area included in the suite with two arm chairs and a window seat, this was lovely but it would have been nice to have a TV included in this area or a small fireplace as I know the 2 bedroom cottages have this.
Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and given complementary Prosecco in the bar area. One of the team members - Sebastian was our favourite host for our 2 night stay & ensured we were well looked after. We especially enjoyed the Garden Market tour where the Chef took us around the produce being grown for their paddock to plate experience. Plus the cheese and wine experience where Sebastian showcased three local wines with matched cheese was fun and light hearted. We loved to sit around the outdoor fire pit wrapped in warm fluffy blankets in the early evening before dinner, we were very well taken care of and all the staff were very attentive.
The breakfast was offered via menu, not a buffet style and took a little while, so be prepared to sit leisurely and look out to the beautiful scenery. We spent the day reading books by the pool and in the hot spa, you can order drinks to be delivered to you or to your room. Dinner was included in our package and we enjoyed the three-courses, knowing most of the ingredients had been handpicked form their garden was a great touch.
I will definitely return, perhaps trying another Spicer’s Retreat now knowing how the service and quality is.

Service levels are just not once they were and the food it was famous for, has become average. It’s gone from my most recommended meeting location around Brisbane to one I’d not recommend in the fear of being embarrassed by it. I really hope they fix it because the location is stunning and the facilities, including the rebuilt homestead, are amazing.

Amazing place! Spent a couple of days at a workshop here and loved it. The captive breeding centre is state of the art, the accommodation is brilliant - individual rooms in a larger cottage with old fashioned decor. The food was amazing - tenderest steak I’ve ever eaten. Not sure how much it cost, but I’d like to take the family one day.

My 3-generation family just returned from 3 days at Hidden Vale. It was a spectacular stay - incredibly relaxing, just enough activity to keep the teenagers engaged and beautiful beyond belief. The Hidden Vale team attended every tiny detail to make the environment gorgeous and welcoming. Their advance crew communicated with professionalism and precision. Their kitchen and dining team do an insanely great job. I live on the opposite side of the globe but am already trying to think of ways to get back. Do not hesitate in choosing Spicers Hidden Vale. It is a truly special place.
