Motel Childers offers clean and comfortable accommodation in the center of Childers, a heritage-listed regional town located ~310kms north of Brisbane, Queensland. Situated opposite the public heated swimming pool, Motel Childers can be accessed by driving in off the main street (i.e. the Bruce Highway), with vehicle parking at your door. Proudly owned and operated by the Jamieson family since 1969, the spacious 14-room motel is well-known by travellers for its friendly service, cleanliness and delicious BYO Chinese restaurant. It is conveniently located within easy walking distance to pubs, cafes/restaurants, supermarket, retail shops, pharmacy, post office, banks and ATMs, medical services, and other local amenities and attractions. The rooms come with a number of comfortable bedding options and all offer split-system air-conditioning, ceiling fans, complimentary Foxtel channels, 1GB free Wi-Fi data each day of your stay, refrigerator, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, microwave, and hair-dryer. Located adjacent to the motel, the BYO dine-in or take-away Childers Chinese Restaurant is the only restaurant of its kind in town, serving dishes seven nights a week. It can also be booked for functions. Childers is located within the Bundaberg region, a gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef and part of the Wide Bay Burnett region, making Motel Childers a perfect spot to explore the area.

In the middle of a town where nothing is open after 3pm. A very basic hotel, we had to buy our own milk for coffee. The water pipes shook and made a loud noise when we turned the tap on. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Parking was a very tight squeeze. Nice gerberas in the front garden and close to a convenience store.

Stated here last night and would definitely come back when staying in Childers next. Very clean with an open plan toilet and shower which I liked. Close to everything which is good when stumbling home from the local hotels. Food is available and there is a Chinese restaurant on site. Management are open and friendly. Definitely my pick of the accommodation options in this lovely little town.

Due to the Bruce Highway closed due to flooding we stayed in Motel Childers for two night.
We rang ahead from Gladstone and they promised to keep us a room. Accommodations were booking out fast due to stranded travelers. Drove through dark driving rain racing rising rivers.

Motel Childers was a welcome sight. Fortunately there is a Chinese restaurant at the front. Very tasty & large helpings in the takeaway.

Other truckies & travelers were also stuck but it was very social outside the motel rooms with table&chairs and all chatting about the unfolding drama. The truckies are very helpful with road/highway updates.

Basic motel room. Big, clean. Very comfortable bed and Big new screen TV. Childers is a nice small country town. We were right in the heart of it. Pub & shops just there. Wide streets, easy parking in the main street if passing through.

Management friendly. Recommend.

As clean as their own home.
We've been on the road since 25th August and this is the first motel we've stayed at where all the lights work. That is indicative of the whole room. The managers obviously look after each room as if it were their own. The AC was effective and quiet. The bed was firm and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size compared to most motels. There were actually two chairs for us to sit in. Many more expensive motels only had one chair. It was very clean. Toaster, jug, microwave, foxtel. We were in room 15 which was nice and quiet.
The motel is a very short walk to restaurants and hotels. 2 minutes to great meals at the Grand Hotel. Definitely worth visiting.

Pulled in after a long drive from Brisbane. Didn't "shop" around and we were booked in with necessary items from bags retrieved by 3ish. The motel was excellent with really lovely bathroom features and decent toilet paper! We had intended to dine at the Chinese next door but time caught up with us. We crashed at 6.30. Next time? We would definitely go back to this motel as it did feature more than tootie paper. The bed was a dream with the obliging manager/owner happy to give us extra pillows etc. On leaving when we went for a walk we bumped into to this gentleman and his gorgeous pooch. We quizzed him about the pooch and his time with the motel etc. Turns out he came to Childers in 1998, built the motel and been here ever since. Mind you the motel is not "dated" but very modern with excellent features. Thank you to this gentleman whose name I am remiss to say I did not get.

On our way home from North Queensland, and because of the road works going on, our drive was slow. Pulled into Childers for night, lucky enough to find a room at Motel Childers. The room was neat and clean and everything we needed for a good sleep for the journey home. Don the owner was friendly, and the restaurant on the premise is part of Motel Childers. So no need to go far for dinner. We chose takeaway and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As restaurant also caters for town as well as Motel, it was very busy. Would definately book Motel again if in Childers, and definately go back again to restaurant. Bed was very comfortable and gave us excellent sleep after long journey, with stressful roadworks. Highly recommend,

Friendly family owns motel. Bed was very comfortable and lots of Tv channels. The best part is that is in the centre of town, so it was very easy to get a meal across the road. The couple that own the motel were very helpful.

This was a spur of the moment stop on our trip as it is a long way from Rockhampton to Brisbane and we thought Childers looked like an interesting town to visit, we had not booked but that wasn't a problem the room was very clean and quiet, the motel is very close to the town and amenities, we would definitely stay there again.

Stayed overnight at Motel Childers on Sunday 12th January, 2014. Found rooms to be spotlessly clean. I have never ever found a room that felt so clean. Eveything is in the very best condition that it can be considering the age of the motel. Decor and fittings are slightly dated but this did not phase me at all because of the level of cleanliness. Very good location with a Chinese Restaurant located on the str!eet frontage beside the Motel which also has good food. I was also able to use RACQ Membership to receive a discount. Keep up the good work Motel Childers
