The Gateway Motor Inn is a 3.5 star motel situated in the beautiful National Trust Town of Childers, Queensland. Our rooms are modern and spacious and feature reverse cycle air conditioners and wide screen digital TV's. Additionally, all our rooms have a microwave, toaster, fridge and tea & coffee making facilities. One of our best features are our two bedroom units which are designed for families, or groups travelling together. We also have a "Disabled Friendly" room, giving easier access and larger bathroom facilities. Free Wifi is provided throughout the motel. For your entertainment sit and relax in our beautiful landscaped garden or take a swim in our salt water inground pool. We also have a basketball hoop if you would prefer something more active! The Gateway offers home cooked meals, delivered to your door to enjoy in the comfort of your room. Choose from a selection of main & light meals. We provide a hot breakfast 7 days a week or we can deliver a continental breakfast the night before for the early leavers. There is also a variety of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages including soft drinks, wine, beer and premixed drinks. Be sure to check our specials board for our F&B offers. (Please note that the kitchen is closed for dinner on Saturday and Sunday) All our rooms are on the ground floor with parking outside your room. There is also parking available on our grounds for trailers, small trucks and boats. We welcome the corporate traveller or contract worker and can provide a packed lunch on request. We'll go out of our way to ensure that your needs are accomodated. Childers is the perfect place to stop when you are travelling. We stayed as a stopover on a long drive, and this motel surpassed our expectations. The lady at reception was lovely, the room was large, fresh, clean and comfortable, equipped with microwave, toaster and jug. Aircon worked well (and was silent), the queen- sized bed was super comfortable. The motel also has a guest kitchen (well-stocked), guest laundry, Individual numbered parking bays, and all ground floor rooms. Like all motels in Childers, it is located on the edge of the busy Bruce Highway. Trucks could be faintly heard throughout the night, but didn't bother us. Recommended. We would stay again.

Could not be happier than to write a good review about this Motel in Childers, I rang ahead and easily booked a room with Sam.
When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the place the room was amazingly clean and very well equipped, easy parking right next to the room and the place is extremely quiet.
I definitely will make reservations here again and I have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful Motel … thank you

First of all the beds are so comfortable and this is not a false statement! There is a kitchen there so you can basically cook, fry, bake or sandwich make your stay, plus fridge , kettle and toaster in room Great for people counting there dollars.
Bathrooms have pump dispensers which have shampoo, conditioner, body was, hand wash, lotion and shaving crème not those small sample thing you get at motels.
There is a wine fridge in reception that caters for a few drinks alcoholic or non alcoholic and at great prices.
I highly recommend here but always ring them direct you may get a great deal !

Located on the southern approach to Childers I have found on many visits the Childers gateway Motor Inn to be a great place to stay when traveling on the Bruce Highway. It is clean and comfortable and only a short drive from the business centre of the town. Access is straight forward by vehicle and although adjacent to the highway, on a side street, the traffic noise is minimal. There is a camp kitchen on site for those who like to self cater when traveling.

This Motel is our go to place to stay when driving to Central Queensland. With two young kids, we can get a family room, and since our last stay, they’ve also upgraded the rooms to make them more modern.
The other nice feature is the small things they think about offering, such as access to microwaveable meals and drinks. We haven’t had a reason to need these yet, but when travel can be unpredictable these little things gives great peace of mind.

We stayed here 3 times in December due to family visits and business in Brisbane. It is located on the Brisbane end of town and you do need to drive about4km's to pubs and eating establishments.
It looks like it has had a make over and the rooms are quiet spacious and the beds are unbelievably comfy. Probably the best besds in any motel I've stayed at in Australia over the past 26 years.

Very clean & pleasant motel with a comfortable bed. I was impressed by the guest kitchen facilities & laundry. dishes & cutlery are available & I was very happy that washing is looked after rather than expecting us to wash up in the bathroom sink. I'd definitely stay here again.

A last minute booking and the best decision we made. We were very impressed with the thoughtfulness and forward thinking of the office staff. We have a big, noisy vehicle and our intention was to sleep a few hours and leave at 3am - there was a young family next door to our booked room so we were moved to an end room to prevent waking up this young family/others early. The bed was large and perfectly comfortable, we hit the pillow and out like a light. The room was spacious, quiet, clean and modern. Easy access just off the highway. Well priced :)

I stayed here for one night it was in a really good room plenty of space one of the bigger rooms I have stayed in the bathroom was big for one person but would be great for 2 people to be in it at same time.
The shower was great you could move around in it, water pressure was great I had it blasting my back to massage it after a short 4 hour drive from Brisbane.
The bed was to die for was so comfortable just what you needed after a drive, there was a card saying if you liked the bed then you can order one from the company.
Breakfast the next day was great it was reasonable priced and tasty. I would recommend that if you are staying in Childers then stay here.

The Gateway being fully booked has on occasion obliged us to stay elsewhere when stopping over in Childers. Big let-down. The Gateway is in every respect a superior motel, and we are quicker off the mark these days. Our advice to you: book early and be grateful.
