Bargara has a wide range of Accommodation but the Grand Mercure which is managed by Kylie and Dale appealed to us because it was closed to everything, shops, cafe, beach and easy access to bike and walking tracks and it was perfect to store our ebikes & kids bikes under cover at the 2 car parks which came with the 3 bedroom apartment. When we arrived at the Grand Mercure it had everything we wanted and more, my favourite the 26 degrees heated swimming pool all year around, for us definitely a five-star accommodation. If you like bike riding Bargara is a good place to have a bike holiday with the kids. We took a couple of bike Rides to the Marina beautiful track along the beach, it is about 10km one way and it goes past the turtle beach. there is a lovely little quirky caffe at Burnett heads called SeaGypsy Boutique Cafe worthwhile for a coffee break also a little bakery (sorry forgot the name) across the road in the IGA shopping complex; nice coffee and cakes. We also did a trip to Elliott Heads, it has beaches everywhere and there is also a patrolled beach where the caravan park is. A great place to stop for a snack, coffee or drink is Driftwood Cafe & Kiosk overlooking the beach. There is so much to explore in Bundaberg, for us was bike riding, going to the beach and walking the main Holiday objectives. When you go into down (Bundaberg) definitely have a side trip to The Hummock Lookout it gives you a 360-degree view of the area. Bundaberg Rum Distillery is a must stop and while you in town check out River Cruze Cafe. Bundaberg RSL Club has also very nice food and great homemade cheese cake, pistachio and Nutella cheese cake; try to get there between 5 and 5:30 to get a seat on the window, absolutely beautiful place to have a sunset meal. Eating Out Rick's Café at Bargara great spot for breakfast, lunch or just a cup of coffee and cake, Bradlees Beachside Takeaway you have to try there works burger, this is a little busy takeaway but the food is worthwhile to wait. we brought our drinks and a picnic just opposite on the beach. We placed the order took the buzzer and where just enjoying the beach and a lovely sunset drink while we waited for the food, waiting was no problem to us. Salt - Bargara good place for a meal or just a sunset drink outside on the deck and so is the place next door. Just meters up from Rick's cafe same side is a Bakery they have everything for your taste buts, fresh every day yum yum. Great places to eat out with children! The Waves Sports Club & Melbourne Hotel in Bundaberg, both places have a playground to keep the kids entertained and the food is great, try to get there early they are always busy throughout the school holidays and booking is essential. We loved Bargara and the surrounding area so much that we have already booked January 2022 and January 2023 School Holiday, we are coming back, this is definitely a perfect destination for Couples which just would like to have time out and for families with young or old children. I hope you get some inspiration to visit Bargara, happy holidays.…
Penthouse suite Extra large room 3 bedrooms plus office with sofa bed. main bedroom with spa and ensuite. Walking distance to local coffee shops, restaurants and takeaways. Nice and quiet area. Tidy spacious unit awsome upper private viewing deck. Large kitchen with all utensils. Would be perfect for longer stay.
My Wife and I stayed here 14 years ago and remembered how good the view and rooms were. Nothing has changed the view is still magnificant, the rooms are just a little on the "well used" side but still very clean and comfortable. If you like to cook in, the kitchen is excellent with a full size fridge and all the gear. There are plenty of Shops/ Cafes nearby and an excellent Shopping Centre with Aldi and Woolworths. Don't forget to have at least one night off down at the Bargara Tavern. Parking is excellent undercover and secure. Pool is heated and did I mention the view!!!!
Our stay at the C Bargara was excellent. Rooms and facilities were we fantastic. Waking up to the ocean views was spectacular. Hosts, Kylie and Dale are to be commended on their management of this resort. Very friendly and helpful.
My wife and I decided to head north for a short break and decided on Bargara Beach . No regrets we found Kylie and Dale at the grand Mercure to be the most accommodating host! We will definitely return, hopefully than later.
