Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great family friendly accommodation. It’s comfortable, cool with the air cons and good for the budget . 1 min walk to the beach, the causeway is less than 5 min walk, good for little ones, handy having the restaurant in house. Easy access parking. Good spot!

Stayed for 3 nights at the start of January for a family getaway. Have stayed previously and again KBR did not disappoint. Great location, amenities and now the cabin we stayed in had air conditioning in the bedroom. Except location to Mon Repos and the LME. Restaurant excellent again and staff very friendly. Highly recommended.

I think we got quite an outdated villa. The grounds are nice and leafy, lots of water dragons to look at. Pool was heated for the cool beginning of spring, kids liked that. I've given the room 2 stars as it really wasn't suited to our family. We have a 2 and 4 year old and the mezzanine was a bit of an anxiety driver. We ended up bringing down one of the mattresses to ground level so the kids could sleep downstairs. The mattress was very old and stained. The single bed bedding was old and awful fabric. Unfortunately the stair lock to stop little climbers was broken so it was very unsafe and I could not relax Would be better suited to much older kids. Staff were really lovely and the restaurants meals were delicious, thoroughly enjoyed them. We left a day early as it just wasn't a safe place for young children.

Hi Alex, Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback on your stay with us - we are truly the villa didnt suit your needs. We do know the loft bedrooms arent for everyone and dont recommend them for children under 4, we try and display these as best we can in all our advertising and have additional options such as the sofa bed in the lounge for those that dont wish to use the lofts. We have the manufactured ladder clamps also to assist, had we known or been made aware one of our staff could come and have installed it for you - thats what we are here for, to help as best we can to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. Again we truly apologise you experienced these issues whilst here and hope we can welcome you back another time perhaps when the children are older.

Wonderful place to stay. Facilities and gardens were great. Heated pool was perfect. Nice quiet location, not far from the beach. Beds and lounge were comfortable and suited our family of 5 perfectly. Bathroom and kitchen a little dated but clean and comfortable overall. Definitely will again

Very quiet mid week in August. About a 5 minute drive to the centre of Barbara. Lovely beaches nearby. Comfortable accomodation. Comfy bed. The villas are freestanding so no sharing adjoining walls with noisy neighbours. Well maintained green gardens. Very clean pool. Good laundry facilities. Would recommend.

This was a lovely setting although it says one block from the beach it is not a short walk especially with kids and carrying stuff. It is a 30 min walk to the closest shops. There is a public bus stop close by, but it only runs hourly and not at night or weekend afternoons. 25 min trip to Bundaberg and goes past Bargara shops. The reception is not big on giving out information had to find all this our ourselves. We did not eat at the restaurant. We had an eco villa for 2 of us but it did have 4 extra single beds in the loft part. The living area was small and no table and chairs inside only 4 bar stools. Table and chairs for 4 on the deck part. The toilet and bathroom are very cramped. The kitchen lacks a few things, no cutting board, no sharp knives and minimal other things. We used the washing machines in the communal laundry, $4 a wash and dryers same price. There is a drying rack in the room. We had a car and the weather not hot enough to swim so did some day trips. Childers festival, Bundaberg Rum tour, Lady Musgrave island day tour. We took the car back on the last day and ordered a shuttle to the Bundaberg railway station from Bargara $44 for up to 4 people. Sign was on noticeboard in reception.

Hi Retirees51 Thanks for providing your feedback on your stay with us, we are situated one block back but the beach is only two minutes walking distance from the back gates. We do not advertise that we are in the main part of Bargara or that we are walking distance to shops - we are situated a little further away from the town centre away from the hustle and bustle but there is a milk bar/convenience store only 5-10 mins walk from the resort. As a sleepy seaside town in regional queensland the public transport is limited compared to city life but there is taxis available :) We hope you enjoyed the Childers Festival and the day trips around our region - we do actually have a heated pool for swimming! All the best with your future travels!

My wife and I were very disappointed with our "villa" at Kellys Beach Resort. The first thing that struck us was the dirt. The floor was dirty, the chairs were dirty, the stove was dirty and the bathroom was dirty. Then we noticed the lack of maintenence. The sliding door needs fixing, one of the blinds is falling apart, and the A/C would not heat. The place sleeps five so their should be five of everything. Kitchen chairs, coffee mugs, wine glasses, and so on. There wasn't. The rooms were OK but there was nowhere to put suitcases except on the floor. This was awkward even though there were only two of us. Imagine the chaos wiith five guests. Finally the bathroom was tiny, the smallest I have ever seen.

Stayed a couple of nights in winter and had a nice stay. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The standard bungalow room was fine for our stay, big enough for a couple, although the floor was not the cleanest. Note that you need to climb a ladder to get upstairs, would be great fun for bigger kids but I wouldn't send littlies up there! There is of course the main bedroom downstairs. Kitchen had everything we needed. It was very peaceful and quiet and we had no noise issues at all. Wifi was not always the best but we noted we also had problems in the evening connecting to both optus and telstra so it might be a telco issue rather than a wifi specific issue. We thought it very reasonably priced for very close to the beach.

Wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone. The bed was terrible, woke up every morning with a very sore back, the pillows were shocking, no smoke alarm connected. Stains and droppings on the mattresses. Teenage kids running and screaming of a night time. The food at the restaurant was awesome though. We are locals and went for a 3 night stay for our Wedding Anniversary. Never stay there again.

Hi Warren Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback on your stay and this was expected due to the issues you experienced with loud neighbours. Unfortunately we are a family resort so we do have a lot of families stay and as it is a safe space, parents often feel comfortable letting their kids run around. Our onsite management did speak with those families after your complaint and did try to keep an eye on this after you came to see us the following day by ringing around and having a chat with them again. It is a shame this impacted your time with us here at the resort and we do apologise on behalf of those other guests - however we cannot control too much noise until after 10pm when noise restrictions do kick in. It is shocking to hear about your bed, these were all replaced mid-last year so less an a year old Sealy Posturepedics. Of course everyones comfort level is different, we opt for medium comfort level, but of course if you are used to different this can impact your rest and for this we apologise. We are glad you enjoyed the restaurant and wish you all the best with your future travels.

Loved this place so much I booked an extra night. So relaxing sitting out on the patio, overlooking the stream & beautiful garden, listening to nothing but the birds. Very comfortable units, & one of the best restaurants I've ever come across at a resort. Just fabulous.
