The check-in was super easy after hours. We stayed in an executive queen room which was newly renovated. It has a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster, water boiler and sink. The water is drinkable from the tap. There is a small living room with a sofa, tea table, large TV, a table and two chairs. From the living room you have view and access to the pool area. The bedroom has a queen bed that was confortable to sleep and the bedroom has a sliding foor to a large toilet/bathroom with two showers. Behind the complex is the sea. To get to the beach you need to descend steep stairs.

Don Pancho by the Beach is the perfect destination for a relaxing and picturesque getaway. Located just steps from the beautiful beaches of Bargara, this property offers an unbeatable combination of tranquility and convenience.

The accommodation was spotless and thoughtfully designed, with stunning ocean views and comfortable furnishings that made it feel like a home away from home. The amenities were excellent, including a well-maintained pool and easy access to the beach—ideal for morning walks or watching the sunset.

The staff were warm and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our stay was seamless. Their local knowledge was a bonus, helping us discover the best spots to explore around Bargara.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a family-friendly retreat, Don Pancho by the Beach delivers in every way. We can’t wait to return and experience this slice of paradise again.

We have been visiting, Don Pancho by the Beach, for the past few years now. The facilities are very comfortable, staff friendly and accomodating.

The resort location is divine; we have been fortunate to witness an adult turtle laying, egg clutches being retrieved and babies scuttling from their nest to the ocean- all a short walk from the resort!

Don Pancho’s offers loan of surf skis, skim boards, pool toys, tennis rackets (for their half court which also has a netball hoop), bicycles, board games, DVDs & books.

This is the second generation to visit Don Pancho’s- so many lovely memories!

Upon arriving late to the motel the map to my room was very confusing and to walk the property in the dark was a bit scary. I was so lost as the numbers on the wall did not coincide to the numbers on the map or which way to my room. There was construction going on so was not a pleasant feeling at all. When I eventually found my room the area was in pitch darkness so hadto turn my light on my phone so I could get the key in the door. Upon entering my room it was clean and tidy but very out dated, like im talking centuries outdated and was nothing like the pictures advertised. I then proceeded to attempt to lock the ranch slider door which goes out onto the balcony to find I had to pick up the door and play around with it just to get it to lock. I travel for business and it was a disadvantage to find out that I had to wait until 8.30am the next morning to sign a piece of paper and pay my deposit so needed up being 2hrs late for my meeting. The motel is in a very noisy spot with the traffic constant. Outside your room there is a laundry, this hould be a requirement that it is used only during certain hours. The person staying next to me started the washing machine at 4.17am! Then proceeded to use the dryer at 5.12am!

Not sure where these other people were staying, but I recommend you give the place a very, very wide berth. There is nothing welcoming about this place. Due to an accident on the motorway, we were late arriving. (office hours 8.30am-5.30pm, Sunday & public holiday 12-4pm). We picked up our keys from a lock box along with a double sided A4 paper of rules. We lugged our bags up to the narrow, worn stairs to the 2nd floor. No lifts or assistance. Room is only serviced once per 7 night stay. Leave any dishes or rubbish behind and you could be in for an extra charge. Only one car on allowed and must be in designated park. Bed was lumpy, bathroom the size of a wardrobe. There was a washing machine and dryer supplied to be shared with the room next door. We found Bagara to be very welcoming and friendly, but Don Pancho really lets the team down.

This place is great value for money. Short walking distance to town, the back of the facility has a large communal balcony that greets the beach. (Great watching the moon come up over the sea) Our deluxe studio room had a practical kitchenette and was very spacious and clean. Having an outdoor seating area at the front entrance to the room as well as the BBQ and pool area at the back sliding door made for a great relaxing atmosphere.
Michelle & Michael, the onsite managers were so friendly and went out of their way to help out - a great personal touch frequently missed in many places these days.
We look forward to returning to this great spot.

Until last year (2021) I was one of the many owners of Don Pancho and have been since 1988. It is in probably the best location on the whole Fraser coast. All our kids have grown up there and learnt to swim in the pool and the beach, which is easily accessed by walking down the back steps, straight onto Kelly's Beach. Our family, as well as a lot of the other owners asked the management (Classic Holidays) to put it up for sale as it was no longer viable to be an owner. In saying that, I can only say good things about Don Pancho and will be in our hearts forever.

Location of Don Pancho is perfect, such an easy walk down the beach along the esplanade to all the shops and restaurants or you can just hop on a scooter that is normally outside the hotel to go up to mon repos or sightseeing. We stayed in the two bedroom ocean front apartment that didn’t disappoint. The apartment was clean and tidy serviced mid week and air conditioned with a lovely sea breeze .We watched the sun rise every morning from our balcony and the dolphins playing most afternoons. The pool area is a little tired but very clean. Michelle was fantastic and organised our trip to lady Mulgrave island. She is so helpful and nothing is a bother. Can’t wait to go back

We booked a short stay here, while visiting friends. We only required a studio for the 2 of us, and because we booked late for school holidays, didn't have many options. We stayed in the Studio Golf View, and this suited our needs perfectly.

From the first moment on arriving in Reception, Michelle was welcoming, efficient and helpful. We loved the casual, friendly ambiance of the resort. Our room, while not ultra modern, was very clean, roomy, and had everything we could need for our stay. The bed was comfy, the air conditioning was very welcome in the humid weather, there was a double hot plate, microwave, and adequate cooking pans/utensils, toaster, kettle, crockery etc. The bathroom was updated and clean. The laundry facilities shared by 2 rooms was very efficient and useful too. We found our room to be quiet, and didn't hear any noise from other guests. The resort is right on the beach, with steps from the accommodation to a deck, and the beach. A patrolled area on the beach is only a very short walk away.

There are no lifts, and stairs to most rooms, however this didn't bother us - a great way to burn off the extra indulgences! Golf club and restaurants within walking distance were great; an easy walk to town, either along the beach or on the path.

Our stay was during the heavy rain of remnants of a cyclone, and flooding of roads on our journey home meant we had to stay for an extra night or two to wait till they were clear. Although the resort was fully booked, Michelle was able to juggle for a number of guests in the same situation, and due to arriving guest's delays in arriving for the same reason, we were able to stay for the 2 nights by switching rooms - we know this was not easy to manage, and appreciated the time and dedication Michelle and Michael gave to providing as many requests as possible with a room for the extra night/s. They even suggested we leave our 'cold goods' in the fridge, noting they'd move it to the new room after cleaning - we were very surprised to see it all unpacked from our cold bag into the fridge when checking into the new room! Thanks so much for going above and beyond! All staff & cleaners friendly too.

We enjoyed our stay, and can very much recommend this resort.

We exchanged our holiday points for a week long holiday in a studio apartment. Room 12 was not ideal. The room was dated and very small for a studio apartment. Our car doors could not be opened if we parked in the allotted carpark as it was too narrow and up against a wall. The room had a small kitchenette but no table to sit at to eat. You were obviously supposed to take your meals to the pool or bbq area to sit to eat. No view except for the bathroom or kitchenette windows which had old and grubby fly screens to look through, at the road and a house across the road. Obviously people booking through other sites and paying a nightly rate for a room may have scored better than people swapping in a timeshare situation. As it was a studio apartment there was no service at all for the weeks stay. We had access to the laundry so could wash our towels ourselves if we needed clean ones.
Take your shower early morning as the hot water had to turned on full with no cold in order to have a hot shower at night.
Would I ever go back to Don Pancho ... No. it was the worst timeshare swap we have ever stayed in. Would I recommend it? .... No, not if you were given room 12.

Go to the gardens in Bundaberg, and ride the steam train, visit the aviation museum and Bert Hinklers cottage. Also a lovely cafe in the gardens. Don Pancho is not a place I found comfortable, however, there are bikes for hire at a cost. Not sure if they have bikes for kids. Barbara has great eating places, great beach areas for swimming and picnics. You can visit the soft drink factory in Bundaberg. Loved the area. Enjoy your stay.
