Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room was fairly basic, but was clean, the beds were comfortable and the TV and kettle worked.
It obviously hasn't been renovated for many many years.
The fridge was supposed to be a mini bar but it was empty.
The air conditioner turned on, but none of the controls could be changed and it was very noisy.
If travelling in winter make sure you have warm clothing because you probably won't be able to heat the room.
The reception staff could use some customer service training.
They advertise having on-site restaurant/s but they are currently closed, so there's no dinner or hot breakfast (as also listed) available, and there's nothing else really close by in easy walking distance.
There's constant traffic noise from the Pacific Highway, and it's fairly close to a hospital so there's frequently sirens as well.

On arrival the car park was so congested we couldn't get a park, the restaurant next door uses it as well. People put rubbish bins and chairs in parking spots to reserve them. On entering our room it was freezing (the windows were wide open), clearly bcoz when we closed them the smell of damp/mould was really bad. The towels were seriously in need of replacement. The bathroom so small the basin was in the bedroom. The shower fitting was rusty. The floors had not been vacuumed (and not just between guests). We found a piece off a knee brace or moon boot under the bed...........

The room was very quiet, clean and very good value for money. A problem with the brand new hot water service meant my shower was on the cool side but fixed by second day.,

Though run down since our last stay ( 15 years ago ), the current owners are working hard to bring it back to it's former standard.

Good location at end of freeway. Close to Hornsby. Would stay again, especially if they get the restaurant up and running.

Room was average, my wife lost her phone in carpark tracked it down to reception they refused to hand it over said it was too late it was 10pm , had a family emergency had to leave at 5am . Left key in room and in a clean manner . Called about a week later to retrieve phone and i was informed that the phone was no longer there and that the key was missing , and requested a further 50 dollars to get my id back as that was used as security. They Played poor English as an excuse.

Atrocious!!
Booked thru Agoda & after a long day driving from Melbourne, we just wanted a room to sleep then continue to Brisbane early next morning. Nancy at reception would not give us the room we had paid for because she had not received her payment from Agoda.
My daughter & I showed her the confirmation of our booking & receipt for payment but to no avail. Nancy was extremely rude & unreasonable! She made us wait for an hour & then to get a room, we had to pay cash for an upgrade as the one we booked was no longer available. Advertised free wifi but had to pay so we didn’t bother. Deposit required for keys & TV remote. Rooms are noisy. Air brakes all night long. Very run down. Low water pressure in shower. Not clean.
Unbelievable nightmare!
Better to sleep in your car than stay here!
I never thought places like this existed.
Absolutely atrocious!!

Travelling with my dad who needed a procedure at Adventist hospital on booking we explained this - got offered a second story room on arrival ( dad couldn’t do the stairs) Reception lady greets us with mask and gloves, room was filthy, dead bugs in bathroom and maggots here and also in the bed room.
No mini bar. No ice. No teaspoon to make coffee.
Aircon/heater really old and noisy. Front door non locking- just a chain. If we weren’t so exhausted from a 6 hrs drive and following 4 hours in hospital we would have left and gone somewhere else. Show pressure crap chose between scalding and freezing oh, and the soap? On the sink in the bedroom figured this out when I was already undressed.
Sheets are clean but bed feels like bricks. Can’t sleep cause I’m worried about a maggot falling into my bed!!
Worst. Accommodation.ever.

We paid nearly $200 for a room that hadnt seen a duster for years. Freezing cold with one aircon not working and the other sounding like a jet engine. 1 small smelly blanket and 1 lumpy pillow per bed. Dirty carpet. Invisible minibar. No microwave. Dirty fridge. The room was disgusting. We arrived too late to make alternative arrangements. I read that this place is a local icon, more like a local embarassment.

Had dinner at the Fox and Hounds restaurant, attached to the Ascot Motor Inn at Wahroonga tonight.
Wow, what a fabulous experience. The food and service was outstanding and Matthew, the Maitre'D, is fabulous, even without shoes (a man after my own heart)
The food is sensational (spicy king prawns and caesar salad were outstanding) and the special schnitzel for$14 was fabulous.
I cannot say enough good thigs about the Fox and Hounds. Just go and try it for yourself.

Very old motel with a lot of dated fittings. Not sure if it is 60's or 70's decor. Really needs a spruce up which is apparently happening as they have employed a new manager who is friendly and efficient. Restaurant only open certain nights.
Hope it improves.
