Such a beautiful secluded retreat away from everything. All the lodges are incredibly spacious and super clean. All the activities around the retreat are amazing and so fun to do whilst away. I love all the animals around the lodges and waking up to the beautiful sounds of nature and bushland. Thankyou for having us!!!!

Our group of 4 families (17 people) has been going to Banjos every year since 2008, although we were prevented from going by a global pandemic. Since our first visit in 2008, the youngest members of our group have grown from 4 year olds to 17 year olds, while the 8 parents have continued to age graciously. The older children who have moved into, and in some cases through, their teens are still more than happy to participate in the annual pilgrimage with their parents.
The 3 lodges remain in impeccable condition and are always spic and span and ready for us to eat, drink and be merry. The kitchens have everything we need to cook up some wonderful meals and, in the largest lodge, Brumby's Run, there is enough space for up to 17 of us to eat together.
The bedrooms and beds are comfortable, the living areas are spacious, with some cosy areas around the fireplaces when the weather is right. In Brumby's Run, there are a number of separate comfortable spaces where groups or even individuals can hang out and do their own thing. There are also excellent recreational facilities including a tennis court, pool table, table tennis and a spa and sauna.
The setting is peaceful, the views are beautiful, the wildlife is varied and interesting - birds, kangaroos/wallabies, possums, goannas and more - and the whole set up just makes you relax.
As a place to get together with a group of friends, Banjos is simply perfect.

The photos do not do Banjos justice. I took my son and 6 of his mates to celebrate his 13th birthday at Banjo's and it was marvellous! We are city folks and just watching the boys get back to nature is amazing. Surrounded by beautiful friendly wildlife and trees, this retreat screams relaxation. The boys had an amazing time exploring. They loved the recreation room which occupied lot of their spare time. They made friends with the wallabies, guanas and different species of birds that came to keep us company while we were there. The boys made friends with the wallabies, even named them Baldy, Holey, Jimmy and James. It was amazing to watch the wallabies come right up to the door to greet the boys and allowed them to pet them.
The lodges themselves were great. Comfy and clean. The oven in the the 4 bedroom might need a look at because it turns off when it gets too hot. Aside from that, everything is supplied. Ample space for the boys to run around.
We would definitely go back! It's been an amazing experience for the boys and not being glued to their technology.
Thank you for the stay! I don't even need to recommend theretreat to others as the boys have gone back to their parents to tell them that they'd like to have their birthdays there!!

Many thanks for your lovely review of your 4 night stay at Banjos during January 2020! How wonderful to hear that your son's 13th Birthday was such a fabulous success, and that they would all love to come back again for more birthday celebrations! Connecting with nature is always a plus, but especially when teens choose this over technology! We appreciate the information about the oven, and will get this fixed. Maintenance of our property is an absolute priority! Looking forward to having you and your friends return again to enjoy a break from city life!

Our weekend at Banjos Retreat was to be a family get together to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday. Wow, what a wonderful weekend !! We had never been to Banjo's and booking on line can sometimes be deceiving but when we arrived the Retreat just amazed us. We stayed at Brumby's lodge, the 4 bedroom house, and it was fantastic. So clean and welcoming. The wood fireplace was stunning {with heaps of wood all cut ready to use}, the spacious bedrooms with their ensuites and king beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was so well stocked with everything you would need for entertaining,{ just need your own food} the family rooms with their comfy leather lounges were fabulous and the views from the spacious verandahs were beautiful. Kangaroos, possums, kookaburras, parrots all came to say hello which thrilled our small grandchildren. There was so much attention to detail and we certainly couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

We've just returned from our second stay at Banjos Retreat. Once again, it didn't disappoint. Jenny is a wonderful host - and was very responsive to all our requests.
Not only does the house accommodate for all your needs (including toiletries, kitchen supplies etc), it is IDEAL for several families. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, ensuring privacy and space whilst still be able to stay in the same venue.
The clubhouse with tennis court, spa, sauna, pool table and kids playground catered for the various age groups in our combined families.
A big bonus is the earlier check in (12.30) and late check out (4.30pm). This is rarely offered by properties and meant we could enjoy our Sunday without having to get up early to pack AND we avoided the traffic heading home to Sydney, It essentially gave us another day at Banjos! A great and generous initiative.
If you're looking for a quiet getaway amongst the gum trees, kangaroos and abundant wildlife.........this is the place to stay!

We try to be a little different by giving more generous check-in and check-out times which can make a huge difference to a short 2 night stay! We hope you and your family will return again soon!

The welcoming Kookaburras were first to greet us. Food for the greatest pose you will get from these magnifficent birds. The three lodges are well seperated, did not notice others untill I saw three cars exit the driveway, that is well private with its own security gate. Very peaceful and serene. The wallabies at sunset were great to see. Fireplace in the evening was a treat. House felt homely with all the comforts you need, just bring your food (and some for the Kookaburras) . Enjoy.

What an amazing place. The location, view, accommodation, activities and wildlife make Banjos the perfect family retreat.
Jenny made the process of booking so easy and completely undersold how tranquil Banjos really is.
If anyone is seeking a perfect place for their large family getaway then book all three cabins and quite simply enjoy.

Hi Rami, Thank you for your lovely review of your recent stay at Banjos! Very happy to hear that you and your friends absolutely enjoyed everything about Banjos, and that it was even better than you expected! We pride ourselves on what we have built for so many different types of guests, but when you book all 3 lodges you, of course, have the added benefit of enjoying the entire retreat exclusively for your group, and in this awful situation with COVID Banjos works really well! We look forward to welcoming you back to our special piece of paradise again soon!

I have been to Banjos a number of times over the past 3 years as part of a healing retreat. The accommodation and facilities are amazingly well kept and we have never had an issue every time we have stayed. The retreats catered up to 20 people and everyone felt like they had their own space for solitude.
Being surrounded by nature and wild animals adds another layer to the healing that you can obtain from this magical place. Venture out for a bushwalk and you'll find even more treasures!
Highly recommend.

Several days in Swagman's Rest lodge was more relaxing than our prior 2 weeks of leave! Nestled in the trees with only the animals for company and quiet enjoyment of the great views. This really is the perfect bush get-away.
The lodge has all the facilities of home, with spacious and well-appointed rooms. Lovely views over the surrounding valleys and a mix of wallabies, kangaroos, parrots, kookaburras, and more all lingering around the site and keen for a feed.
Malcolm and Jenny have invested significant time and effort in developing their facilities to a high standard. While we did not make use of the shared recreational facilities, they would really suit a group of friends or families.

What a fantastic place for a weekend getaway or even longer. Our family gathering was made even better by the standards offered by Banjo's Bushland Retreat. Our accommodation was absolutely exceptional and everyone completely enjoyed their stay. The views were beautiful and the walks were highly enjoyable. We would definitely recommend Banjo's to other family and friends and we will definitely be back for another stay. Everyone enjoyed experiencing the wildlife eg feeding the kangaroos and hand feeding the kookaburras.
