Great facilities, clean, modern great value for money. We booked over the phone theres actually a sign behind the desk that encourages phone bookings, but was not told there was a $100 deposit. When checking out said they should let people know about this deposit when booking she said it's on our website. I searched high & low and could not find anything about a deposit, only after trying to book on Expedia I found something mentioning a deposit. So if you book over the phone be warned as they won't tell you about it.

Some hotels have a usefulness for one thing or another & this place is no different. The Voyager Motel is located next to Pinegrove Cemetery in western Sydney which lies off the Great Western Hwy about 5 mins down the road from the Blacktown Travelodge & 5 mins from The Holiday Inn Rooty Hill.
This place doesn’t offer much besides being a slightly cheaper alternative to its 2 larger competitors & seemingly only has the benefit of having the advantage of being isolated enough that the hordes of Chinese tourists from tour buses en-route to the Blue Mountains who stay at the previously mentioned places, are completely avoided.
Unfortunately, the Voyager Motel looses much appeal when you start to get hungry & bored because there is no on-site restaurant & no facilities whatsoever, not even an empty pool with green sludge to be disappointed at. You can at least walk the 10mins down the highway past the cemetery entrance to the 24hr service station & buy a sausage roll & slurpee for dinner but then you’d have to walk back.
Interestingly enough, this area of the highway used to be patrolled by large numbers of old & middle-aged prostitutes who serviced the many trucks that use this highway to get to country NSW via Lithgow, the local police has since driven them out of business after years of procrastination, one would suspect the cops were in on the business themselves.
Since the owners have given their motel a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5, you can only guess what it really deserves. A motel should be a cheap place to sleep & have a shower but for $130 a night it is highway robbery. The motel looks fairly new, is in excellent condition but lacks any character & seems like a retirement village, even if you were here with a female friend you would look out of place but obviously your just passing through.

The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us a choice of rooms.
The rooms were very spacious, tidy, clean and well equipped. There were two chairs, a small table, an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, microwave, kettle and bar fridge plus a large, flatscreen TV. There is a large wardrobe and big bench.

We are starting to travel to Sydney again after 2 years of 'staying home' and needed a change of hotel to stay at for a night or two.
After a through search of hotels between Parramatta and Penrith, we decided to try The Voyager hotel at Rooty Hill. It is in the preferred area that we like to be based for Sydney visits, in the under $200 price range as we want a place to sleep not a 'luxury' stay.
We rang direct and booked. We arrived at the time we advised and we very pleased with the reception and the room price. We parked in front of reception/main entrance and went up to the room. The hotel is relatively new, smells clean, looks clean and well maintained. The room was clean, the air conditioner worked very well, the TV worked, the bathroom was efficiently laid out and the bed was comfortable. There wasn't a kitchenette in our room.
We heard no road noise from the Great Western Highway, which runs in front of the hotel.
The controlled access after 1000 PM/2200 Hrs was reassuring for security of the hotel and its guests.
The wifi was good and easy to access, for our usual usage.
The reception staff on arrival and departure were very pleasant and helpful. Guests are required to produce identification on check-in, we think this is a sensible request.
We will be back again as this hotel meets our requirements for our regular visits to Sydney. Road access is good too.
This hotel is also well situated for many of western Sydney's family entertainment facilities.

My Son and daughter booked and paid for their room via Expedia. on Arrivel My daughter in law were talking on her phone telling her friends to pick them up from the hotel, Then she was told she needed to pay another $200 deposit and that other people could not stay here and the words he used was "We had people like you here last week" They paid for their room paid the $100 deposit and the receptionest assumed extra people were stayig and decided to charge another $100 ontop totalling $400 this was not in their agreement or policy!. Not only was Ted stereo typing, rude, but I feel the hotel was discrimnating on my Son and his daughter in law. I will be making a formal complaint to DFT and seeking legal action. I called in the morning when i was told of their situation and the lady played dumb when asked why they were refused entry!!! i'll be seeing Ted when hes next on shift!

Ended up here with my 4 children after a car breakdown. The room and bathroom were spotless and the beds extremely comfortable. Surprisingly quiet considering the location. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, bringing extra blankets and even arranged a meal for my family as we arrived late at night on a public holiday.

Great rooms very clean and big.
The owners were very friendly and helpful
even supplying a microwave when we requested.
The accommodation was in close proximity to Eastern Creek raceway even through it is on the main road there was very little traffic noise.
We will definitely stay there again next year for the Schools State Cross Country races.

ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPY WITH OUR STAY, STAFF WAS INCREDIBLY RUDE! Because of our age (20s) we were closely monitored because staff thought we would make too much noise for the other guests even though we were planning to have an early night as we had Church activities to attend to the next day. They accused us of a 'car of ours' that was parked too long when in fact it belonged to the guest staying in the room next to us. We were confronted when we came back from visiting a friends place after dinner just for them to accuse us of sneaking in a guest when in fact they were just dropping us back to our room and told us that (quote) "we were going to and from the hotel too many times". I'd like to back that claim by saying we only left the hotel to and from twice, once was because I had to buy allergy tablets because the room was too dusty and made it hard to breathe and the second time was to go visit our close friends for dinner. THEY EVEN KNOCKED ON OUR DOOR TO TELL US AGAIN LIKE THEY ASSUMED WE DIDNT LISTEN THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THEY WERE ACCUSING US OF DOING SUCH THINGS!
The room we had, had a bathroom with a dead cockcroach on the floor and a door that was jammed- If it wasn't for staying with another person to shoulder barge open the door every time we used it we would have been trapped in there for who knows how long! We asked for two key cards and as I tried to get into my room it would not unlock the door, as I requested for my key card to be fixed I was then interrogated about how many people were staying in my room and then after explaining that there were only 2 people staying at the hotel the Lady then (very rudely) reactivated my card and didn't even apologise or explain why my key card wasn't working in the first place.
Me and my family have always stayed at The Voyager many times as it is close to the places we need to visit, we travel 2.5hours just to feel unwelcome at this hotel along with rooms that are overpriced for what you get. We are never staying at this place again, even if we have to spend the extra $50-$100 dollars on another place like Novotel (which might I add, has better service, STAFF and ammenities). Don't waste your time or money here, look somewhere else.

Booked 2 nights but the management rented out room to short stayers on day 2.
Never advised and put my belongings on the floor in the lobby while I was out.
Lost a valuable camera and smart phone and some clothes.
This place is badly located with no breakfasts and is a long way from either Blacktown or Penrith.
The staff and management are both rude and incompetent.

Customer service is non existent. Strange reception setup. I had cockroaches in my room and dusty bedding.
My colleague had lacey underwear left in her room and the a/c froze up and blew ice at her.
We both almost slipped in the showers because the floor of them is so slippery.
Not a great experience and we didn't stay the second night. I almost slept in the car!
