If you are searching for a little piece of paradise while vacationing in Baja, you might consider staying at Bobby's By the Sea. Simply head south, from Rosarito, taking the Tijuana-Ensenada Scenic Freeway, until you reach Km43. Bobby's offers inviting, comfortable condominiums that make you feel at home. You can enjoy the ocean breezes as well as the breathtaking sunsets. The Resort has everything you can imagine for a peaceful, relaxing, and enjoyable vacation. Bobby's might offer the largest variety of Condos in all of Baja. There are a number of floor plans from which to choose. Each condo offers colorful motifs along with distinct interiors. Each one is decorated in a Mexican or hacienda style. There are a number of penthouse suites, as well as studios, one and two bedroom/one bath condos, and two bedroom/two bath condos. The units sleep two to six vacationers. Another extra treat is that you can bring your Special Pet. A few steps from your condo you will find Bobby's Restaurant. Leave your diet behind and embrace the California and Italian cuisine. You can choose from pasta, pizza, seafood and delicious steaks. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While waiting for your meal you might want to order a drink, or a bottle of wine, from the full service bar. Or, you can also select from a number of specialty drinks - if you want to release all of your inhibitions, try the Bambino Margarita. (PS: Ask about the crab legs specials Bobby's offers from time to time. Rumor has it that this meal is a favorite with expat locals!) If you enjoyed a vigorous day of fishing, or a long hike on the beach, you will be ready to visit Spa Ventana al Mara, located within the complex, next to the pool and Jacuzzi. The spa offers the ultimate in massages. If you prefer, you can also have a custom blend of treatments, designed specifically for you. If you decide to wander away from Bobby's you have a number of places nearby, to visit. One of these is nearby Puerto Nuevo. This is a famous Lobster Village. You will be enthralled as you browse through the dozens of open air shops. Later, you can sit down for a fresh, delicious lobster dinner. Closer to your condo you will find Raul's' surf spot. If you are interested in surfing then this is the place to visit. If you drive south, to La Fonda, you can enjoy the fantastic beach or the sport of wind surfing. If you head further south you can enjoy a day in the famous Wine Country while there you should take some time to visit the inviting, beautiful city of Ensenada. Another day you will want to head north to enjoy all of the Treasures leading into Rosarito Beach. A stop at Popotla will offer a unique visit as you watch the fishermen; bring in their catch of the day, while the many customers approach them, to buy their fresh catches. If you want, you can drive right on the beach. Next door you will find the former Fox Studios, where Titanic and other movies were filmed. Recently it was re-named the Baja Studios. Robert Redford just completed filming here. He spent most of his free time in Rosarito Beach. As you proceed south you will discover the great art pieces, handmade furniture, and delightful ceramics as you approach Rosarito. You really need to spend some time in the downtown area of the quaint village of Rosarito. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal, shop in dozens of special stores walk down to the beach, or sit outside as you enjoy a cup of coffee. If you decide to spend your vacation at Bobby's Baja by the Sea you will enjoy an incomparable time in an incomparable setting. Where is Bobby's by the Sea? Take the toll road south from Rosarito, exit at the Puerto Nuevo (lobster village!) exit and turn left. Bobby's is less than a mile, on your right. What to expect: Bobby's by the Sea is very clean and bright, fun, and a great place for cocktails, meals and get-togethers!

Detailed Reviews
The meandering campus makes it seem like you're not in a crowded hotel. There are a good number of small pools and hot tubs scattered throughout the property, and they have attractive dark bottoms.
The rooms, especially the furniture, seem a tad dated.
When we checked in on a Sunday afternoon and out on a Monday morning, the front desk wasn't staffed and it took some work to find someone to check us in and out.
The prices at Bobby's Bar are a little higher than you would otherwise expect to pay in Mexico (most cocktails $8-10).

6 of us went for a late lunch/early dinner and had a nice meal. Not alot of people there, so service was great. I believe this resort was formerly Bobby's by the Sea. First time there and we really enjoyed it. Great views AND a you can hit a few golf balls in their driving range. Resort looked very clean and secure. Will definitely return.

We have stayed in several places in Rosarito and Bobby's had been recommended to us so this time we chose it. First thing to know is that the property is a ways out of town. If you are looking to be in the middle of everything this is not for you. The property itself is beautiful. 2 pools that are on the small size, but nice with plenty of sitting available. As we were there in December and it was chilly we didn't spend a lot of time around the pool however. We were in an ocean view villa on the 3rd floor and it was clean and very nice. What we didn't know until the 2nd night was we could ask for space heaters. The weather was cold at night when we were there and the villa was very cold the first night. Be sure to ask at the office if you are not given one. I'm sure it would be a different story in the summer months. There is no hair dryer so bring one or you can do what we did and run to Walmart in town. We decided to use the kitchen the 1st night and needed to buy dish soap, paper towels and a dish towel. I didn't think of it or we could have brought them from home. There is a restaurant onsite where we had breakfast and dinner one night. The food is very good and the staff is wonderful....very friendly! The only downside I would say is the location with relation to the ocean. By the pictures I thought it was on a bluff overlooking the ocean but it's set back a ways. We didn't walk out to see if there is any beach access as the weather wasn't great so if you want beach you should ask before booking. If we weren't buying a condo down there I would stay here again. As it is, I do recommend it!

I would give them ZERO points if Trip Advisor had the option.
1. We made a reservation by phone and was given a total amount, and when we got to check-in they requested the payment be made in cash. I told them I was paying with a card, so they mentioned that they would need to charge taxes if I was paying with a card, which came to 19% on top of the original amount. However this was never mentioned when I called to make the reservation. After my disappointment, they told me they would take my card, like if they were doing me a favor (customer service doesn't seem to be their expertise).
2. If you are planning for a place to relax, this is not the one. They have live music at their bar every Friday and Saturday and you can hear it in every single corner of the whole resort. So yes, you have loud music in your room at least until 10:30pm.
3. The rooms don't have A/C, so in order to get some fresh air, you will need to have your windows open. Remember the loud music at night? It gets louder with your windows open.
4. Both nights here, people were in the pool after 10:00pm. Being loud and smoking. The swimming pool was right under the balcony of our room, so by then, not only we had loud music but also the smell of smoke and partiers.
5. They are so close to a main road, that in the middle of the night you can hear all the trucks and cars driving by.
6. If you dare to bring to the attention of the manager some of the issues, don't expect to get a response that denotes knowledge of good customer service. Him and his team don't know a thing about common sense or anything related.

I lived there from April 2011 to April 2012. I don't think you'll find a nicer furnished place just about anywhere. The king size bed had to cost five grand. The furniture throughout was top notch, you'll think you're at a nice resort in the U.S. not Ms. Plus its about half mile to the lobster village

I came here with a group of friends for a nice relaxing vacation.
Our original condo was beautiful and well prepared. But we upgraded to get a second bathroom because our group ended up larger than originally planned. So the larger condo wasn't really "ready" ready for us. So it took a day longer to get our drinking water (but we'd also bought plenty at a local market).
The management wasn't there when we arrived due to our own tardiness of arrival. But we called and an assistant came in to assist us. She was VERY helpful especially about suggesting places to eat and local markets. It's a good idea to keep in contact with them about your arrival time.
The condo we stayed in was beautiful. The view was amazing. The pool was cold, ice cold. But we didn't really come to swim so it didn't really affect us. The weather the first few days was colder than we'd have liked but we had two fire places in our condo, and a great view out of our huge glass windows. The furnishings in our unit were beautiful and comfortable as well. (the photos of the unit we stayed in were true to the actual unit, not deceptive or misleading).
The view of the ocean in the area is cliffy and rocky. Which I love.
The restaurant downstairs was amazing. Great food. Pay attention to the hours for breakfast service.
The spa downstairs was amazing as well. I got a deep tissue massage and it was bliss.
The internet did NOT work well if at all. But we made friends with a neighbor and used her private service.

It had been a few years since we have been to Baja. We found Bobby's Baja because of friends who had raved about their trip just a few weekends earlier. We stayed in the penthouse suite overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The pictures just don't do it justice!! Entering the suite through the brick domed arch hallway to a massive solid wood architectural door, we knew we hit a homerun. The view is outstanding and listening to the ocean crashing was the first treat when we opened the expansive sliding glass doors letting in the fresh smell of ocean air. The decor is beautiful. Although we never ate in, the living area screams for entertaining. The kitchen is well appointed and I hear you can hire in a chef if you are not there to cook. None the less, Bobby's restaurant is so good, we ate pretty much every meal there with the exception of an excursion to Puerto Nuevo for the legendary lobster dinners (a short one mile hop from the resort) and of course a taco stand stop by on the ride down.
We packed a lot in for a short stay. A visit to Popotla is a must. Step back in time to this bustling little fishing village. Walk along the fisherman's stands displaying their early morning catch. Try a seafood cocktail washed down with a freshly cracked coconut's water or there is a multitude of seaside restaurants to enjoy freshly cooked local catch. Back to Bobby's we stepped into first class luxury to enjoy hour long pedicures expertly done by the staff at the beautiful oceanview spa on the grounds of Bobby's. Dinner and live entertainment topped off our evening. It was a great experience overall and we plan to visit again.
PS. The beds were the most comfortable ever. 5 star all the way!!

We spent a couple of nights at Bobby's in late August 2019. We had visited several times in the past, but only for meals and cocktails. This was our first stay. First of all, I must say that the staff was EXCELLENT! They did their best to accommodate us, to make sure we were comfortable. Regarding the accommodations, the new owner is working on it, but it's a work in progress. Our "condo" room had only 2 water glasses and 2 wine glasses... that didn't match. The curtains were just fabric on curtain rods - the kind we had in the 1960's with roommates - so they did not keep the outdoor lights from streaming in... all night. Loud music in the bar until 10:30PM - we had to get up at 5AM the next morning - so not much sleep. No blanket on the bed - just sheets and a bed spread. I think that this is a work in progress for the new owner, but for the US$180 per night we were charged, it cost us like a finished product.

We stayed at Bobby's for 3 days and two nights after looking for nice rooms online. Bobby's pictures and the reviews made it look very inviting - on the ocean, spa, gourmet restaurant, beautiful facilities...
We stayed in one of the rooms near the office, which also means right by the roosters, 2 to be exact. So every morning at 4:00 AM those little guys roostered their head off, providing us with a wonderful and unwanted alarm that could not be turned off.
The amenities were nice, room was clean and spacious. We were provided with 4 towels and no face clothes. There is no heating in the room, so once the rooster crowed for an hour we would hope out of bed onto the 45 degree tile floor and sprint to the bathroom - no rugs or carpet to speak of, so it was also very echo-y.
The room did not have a blow dryer or iron, but I was able to get one from the office on our second night.
We were specifically looking for a place to hang out and chill by the pool, but even though the weather gave us 75 degree temps, both pools are on the north side of the complex, so there is not a lot of direct sun so it was too cold to use the pool.
Lastly, parking was a bit of a pain. On both nights I had to park behind another car and most interesting was: why there are no safes in the room? We ended up carrying our passports and extra cash around with us the entire trip.
Not quite a resort, but a hotel at a resort price.

Arrived 6 to 6:30 pm ,no one on duty at desk, had to wait for service. Room was icy cold. Given a small space heater which did nothing to heat the living room, kitchen area. Retreated to our bedroom and got into bed, NO BLANKET!, just to stay warm. We spend two months a year at Rosarito and were considering Bobby's for future stays. Now it is crossed off the list.

Hello Kendra. If u are looking for an amazing spa day I don't suggest this place. The spa is small and nothing special. And it was inside and in the corner of the place. They didn't use their location advantage to make the spa's ambiance feel and look great. i really think there's a lot more option that will suit ur need a lot better.
