Alua Leo hotel garners praise for its prime location near the beach and convenient access to Palma, which many guests appreciate. The rooms, while modern and generally clean, have received mixed reviews regarding space, odors, and maintenance. While the atmosphere is deemed relaxing, some visitors suggest enhancing the entertainment and bar ambiance. The amenities, including bike rentals and breakfast, are well-liked, but the pool's availability and extra charges have drawn criticism.
Service quality varies, with reports of both friendly and unhelpful staff. Noise can be an issue for some due to thin walls. Overall, opinions on value are divided, with some guests questioning the cost given the additional fees and the overall experience.

This hotel is in a great location for getting the local bus (25 or 35) into Palma for 2 euros pp each way. The sandy beach & promenade are a 2 min walk away with lots of bars, restaurants & shops. It has a welcoming reception area with friendly & helpful staff, good restaurant for buffet breakfast/dinner, nice bar with entertainment at weekends, pleasant outside terrace with large pool & plenty of sun beds. Our room (507) was on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the pool & a sea view. Comfy double bed made up of 2 singles really, decent shower cubicle with good hot water pressure, separate toilet, fridge & cleaned daily with fresh towels. Restaurant is bright & airy with sufficient tables/chairs. Had lots of choice (hot/cold) for all meals plus a fresh cooking area too. Dinner drinks were brought to you once ordered & paid for as you left. Leo worked tirelessly to clean & set tables as well as bringing drinks out! Alex in the bar made great sangria & gave decent pours of the local vino (3 euros a glass-cheaper than some of the bars outside the hotel) Pool looked very clean but was not used as sadly we had rain for all 4 days! Despite the shocking weather, a lovely time was had by my daughter. Would defo recommend this hotel for all weathers/seasons.... Things to improve: A modesty panel for the shower cubicle to be fitted at the end opposite the mirror. Not really a fan of looking at myself shower & don't think my daughter enjoyed the view either (lol) More staff in the restaurant needed to take drink orders & bring them out Better labelling of food in the restaurant

This structure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is located 50 m from the beach and has a swimming pool and gym, very clean and friendly staff who are always ready to satisfy customers as best as possible, the rooms are quite large and all have a balcony equipped with 2 chairs and a small table, also on the balcony there is a retractable structure with 4 ropes to hang out any wet towels or costumes. The room is supplied with 2 disposable bathrobes and slippers as well as the classic shower and face towels. The TV is equipped with satellite, but you can't watch any Italian channels, but on holiday you don't want to watch TV anyway, sure a news program would be nice, but it's not relevant. Breakfast is international and you can enjoy a varied quantity of food of all types, there is also soy milk, lactose-free, almond, skimmed and non-skimmed; in short, they fully satisfy everyone's tastes. Good quality lunch and dinner buffet, in addition to the buffet there are 2 chefs who freshly prepare grilled meat or fish omelettes. Paella always present as well as pizza, and every day a themed cuisine, Chinese, Mexican etc. what else can I say, there is also a bit of entertainment in the evening on the dates and types written on the notice board, but nothing special... highly recommended

Aula Leo is a great place to stay. Stayed with friends on bed and breakfast basis. Location is excellent, across the road from the beach and within short walking distance to bars, shops and restaurants. Use uber to get to airport, 10 mins less than £10. You can get the bus to Palma every 20 mins across the street for €2, it takes 15 mins (but longer to get back). Recommend is the hotel bike hire €8 per day, it’s such an amazing cycle along the coast to Palma with fantastic views. The hotel is modern and clean. All of the staff provide excellent customer service. The beds are very comfortable. We had a basic room, decent size, which didn’t have a view from the balcony. Plenty of wardrobe space with a fridge and safe inside. The bathroom (which is open to the room, toilet separate), had a hairdryer, soap and shampoo. TV, but no tea or coffee making facilities. Another in our party upgraded their room, on 5th floor, which had sea and pool views, robes and slippers, mini bar, nespresso coffee machine and a separate bathroom, but the room itself felt smaller. Breakfast is excellent. There really is everything you could possibly want to eat and drink. I particularly enjoyed the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, smoked salmon, freshly made to order omelettes and pancakes. We stayed for a long weekend and there was entertainment (singers) on Friday and Saturday evening, which was great. The price of drinks in the bar is extremely reasonable. Shout out to Alex. The pool looked nice, but not used by us in February. Also, can’t comment on the food other than breakfast, as we ate out. So many great places to eat in Can Pastilla. Thank you Alua Leo for the bottle of bubbly for my birthday and making our 4 night stay such a great one!

This hotel is a major scam. I checked in March 2025 with very high expectations considering it to be one of the Hyaat chain of hotels. Dont go for the photos, they are deceptive. Paid a premium over other available properties at the time of booking. I prebooked the property from their official site. My experience: The property is far from the main city, although it appears close to the airport. However, if you plan to travel by public transport, it takes about 45 minutes to reach. The rooms: I would not pay half the price if I had known how subpar the quality was. No complementary drinking water in rooms, if you want you need to fillin from reception, intercom phones from the 90's which didn't work - fixed next day, bathroom lacking basic cleanliness (stained showers with horrible fittings), locker (paid: 3 euro per day), no tea/ coffee maker, no toiletries, Kettle & Iron available on request at reception with a deposit - 20euro, very poor finishing in the rooms, window sliding doors rattle at night. Staff was no different - poor sense of customer service, was very rude when we approached for help. In short of you wish to feel cheated after the stay, go for it.

This hotel was great for a few days in Palma. I wanted to be located close to the airport because our return flight was very early in the morning, and I wanted to be close to the beach an aquarium for my three year old. The location was great and it is very easy to get into Palma downtown via Uber or bus. The bus is 2 Euro's per person and under 5 is free. Our room was located on the third floor and was a corner room so had space for the double bed and separate single bed. There was enough room for three of us, and we had a closed bathroom which I preferred compared to the open bathrooms I saw online. Staff were all very friendly, breakfast was great with a lot of variety. The pool was still closed at the time of year we visited but we were able to use the sunloungers. It was very close to the beach which has a long promenade with lots of bars and cafes. Five minutes from the airport. It was a great location and a lovely hotel. As a travel agent I was able to carry out a hotel inspection and viewed all of the various room types. I would be more than happy to recommend this hotel to clients.

Be prepared to wait and pay a deposite for any reasonable request. We waited for a few hours for our room to be ready at 2pm and when we returned we were told that we would have to wait so they could check, this was frustrating. When asking for a towel we had to pay 10 euro deposite in cash they would note put it on the room. When we returned them, when we checked out, they insisted that we present the hand write receipt which we didn't have, so we were told how inconvenient this would be for the staff.

This is my third time staying at Playa de Palma. I have twice stayed at a 3 star hotel but this time we chose to select Alua Leo which is a 4 star hotel.
We arrived late in the night and although we missed dinner they kindly reserved a ham and cheese salad with a drink for us and other late arrivals which I thought was a very nice touch. The check-in process was friendly and efficient and we were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was very clean, first floor, partial sea-view and a queen size bed so we may have lucked out with that. The linen and towels were change daily and there were an abundance of sockets. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was disappointing.
The pool area looked good too but we only spent one hour there just before we departed as our time in Mallorca was limited. Breakfast and dinner was quite limited, it suited us for the three evenings but we would have skipped some evenings if our stay was longer. They may have had theme nights but not during our time.
Checkout process also very quick and there was a place to leave our baggage securely so that we can enjoy our last day without the worry of carrying it about. I didn’t ask about a shower room but the rest rooms are large and very clean so you can get changed very easily.
There’s a bus stop right out front so no need to worry about taxis or transfers. Taxi was about €15 and bus is €5 per person to/from the airport. The beach is less than 5 mins from the hotel gate.
In summary, we are very pleased with our choice and I would return again.

Very nice hotel, the all-you-can-eat buffet is good and varied, open until 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the evening. The cleanliness of the room needs to be slightly reviewed (vacuum cleaner not used), otherwise very good. Bike, car and scooter rental service at more than affordable prices (€45 per scooter for the day, €50 for the car)

Nice newly renovated hotel, within walking distance of the beach/promenade. By bus you can get to Palme or the airport very well. The staff was always friendly towards me (whether reception, housekeeping or restaurant) Everything was clean and the food in the restaurant was very good.
The room was of the size he very spacious and modern decorated. There was a closet, room safe (only for payment, shelves and TV, very comfortable double bed and an open bathroom. In addition, my room had a balcony (overlooking the land side, street which did not bother me though). Housekeeping is available every day. Although I requested "quiet room" when booking, I had received a room in a somewhat very busy hallway directly at the lift, in addition the rooms are also noisy.
I had booked the hotel with half board. The food was always very good and freshly prepared, I liked it. There was also show cooking, in the morning and evening fresh food such as omlet (in the morning) or fish/meat (in the evening) was always prepared. The selection was always very extensive from salad, dessert, fish and meat dishes in the evening to fruits, yogurt, egg dishes and vegetables in the morning. The vending machine coffee was also good drinkable. I have also always been given a free table and the staff have been very friendly to me, this can certainly be a bit different in high season. Basically, I was positively surprised by the food on offer and can rate this as very good!
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool for the summer, and many cyclists have been to the hotel. The bus leaving from the hotel is quick in Palma. Walking distance to the beach and the beach promenade is only a few steps, also to the nearest town Can Pastilla you can reach in about 10 minutes on foot. Shopping we supermarkets are also close to the hotel.
I know the hotel before the modernization under another operator. Now the hotel looks very modern and seems to be very well run. I can recommend the hotel without hesitation.

First of all I would like to say thank you to Alua Leo Hotel and the receptionist you were all amazing thank you so much for having us 💕 This hotel deserves the flowers because this is the most beautifulest hotel in the area, the staff was absolutely amazing espically housekeeping they always made sure that we were okay and always went above and beyond if needed.
Great location and great atmosphere as well all the guest literally felt welcomed including myself and my partner. I would say the only thing is I didn't really enjoy the breakfast but if you add your own seasonings to it it is nice nothing too major though they had a variety of things you could choose from so I was really happy with that.
We can't wait to see you guys again in December 2023 and bring in the New Year's with you
Love Anika & Patrick 💕
