Booked this as a last minute holiday with my boyfriend in August. Hotel was well placed by the beach and within walking distance of Cala Millor and Cala Bona. We were a little disappointed by Cala Millor as it was very Brits Abroad. Cala Bona was a little better, but we struggled to find an authentic Spanish restaurant. Facilities in... More

We enjoyed most aspects of our holiday. The hotel was very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. The staff were all very friendly and as helpful as they could be. However, the hotel is taken in its entirety by Thomson. What they fail to mention on their website, is that once you have booked you cannot move you are stuck with... More

2 Week annual holiday at Gran Sol with my wife we had a very pleasant stay, Location is very good being directly on the beach, the front of the hotel is on the pedestrian walkway with the non-motorised lane in the middle identifiable by being painted blue with white boarders both sides, the lane can be busy at times with... I was not going to bother to review this hotel but then read what I consider to be very misleading comments by some reviewers about the food. The hotel overall is excellent, but like some others, we were disappointed with the food, especially after so many good reviews. It is not that we were eating in a different hotel as... More

We visited here again on the 27th September, staying for a week - our fifth visit since 2012. It’s only possible to book the hotel through Thomsons, but bookings can be done independently for the Gran Sol apartments next door. I’ve never seen the hotel as busy in our previous visits. In particular, the restaurant was full in the evenings.... More

I was very impressed with the Gran Sol with the staff the quality of the food and the hotel in general.Reading an earlier post giving a negative view on the food I thought the reviewer must have stayed at a different hotel to me. Firstly for a 4* hotel I thought the breakfast was very comprehensive a selection of cold... More

My wife and I stayed here for 10 days from mid September. I had intitially requested a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the beach, but was given a side room which still had a sea view. The hotel did try and accommodate us a week later but we decided to stay put as our stay was nearly... More

Staff and especially the waiters are fantastic and very friendly. Food excellent, can't fault it. The hotel leads directly to the beach. Very nice sun terrace and pool area. Most people who come here return for another visit.

Positives. Exceptionally clean and well run. Excellent staff Negatives. Despite the many 'rave' reviews we found the food very dull and 'OK' at best. Breakfast was only the usual fare with nothing special and the same each day. Dinner was very disappointing indeed with overcooked dry meat, grill items that were very repetitive, boring cheap vegetables such as carrots, sprouts,... More
