This is our second time at this hotel and again we are very happy. Last time it was in 2016 and this time we can see that the hotel had some renovations and the result is very good. The dinner service is buffet style and the quality is quite good and way much better than going out and look for restaurants in the area , which by the way are basically only a few options and with bad service. Fantastic hotel for staying some days and relax. With kids it is an fantastic option. To come back again for sure.

We had a nice stay at this hotel which is a good value for money. The hotel is quiet, has a nice view. Rooms are clean, yet small. Don’t expect the rooms to be decorated with the last fashion furniture. the big plus? A direct access to the Thermal Spa with a small discount if you stay in the hotel. For diner, there are a couple of options in town.

This hotel could be a reference due to its location and spa, however, it really was a disappointment... Small room, dated balcony, no hot water during the evening, interior pool not warm enough (28 degrees) not too mention everything is an extra. Spa was ok, nothing special but the price.

The Grande Hotel is a four stars recently (2011) renovated hotel the rooms are not enormous but good enough. The WC could be bigger. In this time of the year you can use the indoor heated swimming pool. The restaurant is good, not fantastic, but the food is well prepared and you can eat for around 20 to 25 euros per person with drinks. During autumn and winter you won´t find many restaurants open. The staff very helpfull. What you must try is the spa adjacent to the hotel, is a new spa with excellent conditions, very well trained staff and you will be pampered for sure. This is presently, one of the spas in Portugal.

Luso Portugal is famous for it's natural water springs which are reputed for their healing powers. I am not sure what magic they can really do, but I love a chance to discover a new spa, and this was it. Luso is located in a beautiful mountain region, fairly untouched by modern constructions. Small homes and chalets, all in a very pretty setting. The spa is located in one of the luxury hotels, the Grand Hotel das Termas de Luso. We didn't stay there, and chose to stay in another beautiful hotel high up in the mountains called the Grand Hotel Palacio do Bussaco. However, the spa was not to be missed. We spent Saturday morning there and were greeted by a number of friendly spa workers who all did their best to speak English and explain things as clearly as possible. The spa was a beautiful very MODERN spa, a bit unusual for Portuguese establishments, but wonderful. A number of funky pools and showers, high tech treatments, and non stop refreshments made with the LUSO natural water (which is quite tasty).... We both had a 60 minute massaage and both masseurs were excellent. It was the best massage I have had in a very very long time. The massage did more for my well being than the natural water did, but I loved it all and would return as soon as possible for more...
