Good quiet location 5 minutes from airport. Staff very friendly and helpful, except for very rude chef last night! Clean hotel but towels are like sandpaper, soft towels please! Not much choice of main courses and desserts are nearly always the same. Food only lukewarm. Smell of food cooking in corridors quite bad and we were on 10th floor.

Very good location in walking distance to the sandy beach and recreation area. Nice walk to Machico town center. View to the beach/ ocean makes the stay even nicer. In the evening live music and some entertainment arranged for the guests. Good food and service. Possible to get by bus to Funchal and Ponta Sao Laurenco. Some hiking also possible...

Last minute stay due to flight cancellation, friendly staff, room comfortable, basic, no balcony but it has stunning window views over the bay and Machico. Buffet breakfast was ok too. Taxis available outside, Machico is a lovely little town to stroll around.

I was a bit worried about the lack of balconies, in the photos. The triangular windows were great though, as one window fully opened, and it was like sitting in a greenhouse. Fabulous views. I wish that I had taken a kettle and mug, for my room. Also, I have never stayed in a hotel where there was no hair...

This visit was our second to Dom Pedro in Machico which indicates we liked it sufficiently to return. The location is excellent, 10 minutes from the airport and 1 hour by local bus to Funchal. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The hotel has sufficient facilities for most active people's needs except for a hot tub or jacuzzi. The...

As a disabled traveller I checked the access within the hotel before I booked. On arrival found that the lift didn't go down to the restaurant. I had to use the staff lift and walk through the kitchens which I might add were spotless. Although there were ramps in places, to get to the bar there were 3 steps, the...

I stayed here last september, the good things first - great transfer, lovely views, the staff are lovely. I would not come back and I'm not the only one that had these opinions of the hotel. They had a singer on each night - the same type except for 2 nights which was dancers one night and the parrot show another...

On the whole the holiday and hotel were good, but there were a few irritating things. The bar service could do with improvement. A hairdryer in the room would be an important item in the rather than having to book one out every night.

The property is large and I am sure at one point about 30 years ago it was top of the line for properties on Madeira. It has a lot of potential but just comes up short. We stayed as a last night stay to be close to the airport. It is 5 minutes to the airport so in this regard...
