We had been to Vitigliano a few years ago and came back with a group of friends. Not much has changed... it is still a magical place with stunning views, warm and comfortable accommodations and a staff who makes you feel like this is truly your home away from home. The consensus in our group was that no one wanted to leave. The food prepared by our chef was second to none. Delicious breakfasts and dinners on the beautiful terrace with that view that takes your breath away. Our thanks to Mariangela who makes everything work perfectly. The entire staff is friendly and efficient. Thanks to Marion for sharing this beautiful retreat and arranging the details of our stay perfectly. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer!
Bottom Line: Vitigliano is a gorgeous, small, modern and well-appointed villa that will be your oasis in Tuscany, and the staff will make you feel well taken care of. Longer Review: Villa Vitigliano is a quiet, secluded villa with a small number of rooms and expansive views. This creates a very peaceful, serene atmosphere at the property. The hotel is not a property where you will have any number of staff waiting on your every whim, but you will be treated by friendly staff who will know you by name and preferences and ensure you feel taken care of and pampered. The food was truly some of the best we had in our two weeks in Italy, surpassing Michelin restaurants in quality and variety. We looked forward to every meal at the hotel. As one reviewer pointed out, don’t bother searching for the best restaurants in Chianti - at Vitigliano, you are already there. The setting is in the rolling hills of Chianti, near the charming, non-touristic town of Greve. The rooms are dripping in historical charm, but are well-appointed with modern furniture and decor. It felt very chic. We didn’t have a chance to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The villa is less than an hour from a number of popular destinations (San Gimigiano, Florence, Siena, etc), but the setting is so beautiful, the staff so attentive and caring, you may not want to leave. P.S. We held a private wedding ceremony at the site, just the two of us. Marion, Mariangela and the rest of the staff truly went above and beyond taking care of us. We felt like Marion was a mother who cleared the path of any obstacles, Mariangela was a beloved sister who looked after every detail on our wedding day, and Nishant like a brother helping with the finer details. Oh, and the food was like having a world class chef treat us with local fare.…
Vitigliano is a wonderful property in a stunning location. The view into the green Chianti is breathtaking. The suites and dining areas are stylishly furnished and of very high quality. We started our day with a breakfast on the terrace. The courteous staff fulfills your food wishes and prepares the breakfast freshly (e.g., all sorts of egg dishes, pancake, tomato salad...) During the day there is water, tee and cafe available for self service. For dinner, you don’t have look for the best restaurant close by: you are already there!! Every evening the cook prepares an Italian 4-course-menu with regional ingredients. In summary, Vitigliano left nothing to be desired. Thank you very much! We are looking forward to coming back again.
We stayed at Vitigliano for one week and it felt like coming home. You can’t compare this place to others because there is something magical about it. As soon as you arrive, your mind, body and soul will start to heal. We went there for the fifth time and stayed each time in a different suite. All suites are lovely decorated by Marion (the owner of Vitigliano). The Food and service were fantastic as always. The hotel has the right size for couples and families. To round it up….you just don’t want to leave anymore.
We have been for a week at Vitigliano in July and were overwhelmed. Despite Corona were felt always save and sound and enjoyed there the spirited hospitality of Marion and her small but very professional team. Aside the truly wonderful place and accommodation we enjoyed the food and great wines of tuscany. So we changed plans and will get back there by the end of August for an extended stay. We are really looking forward to get back !
