My wife and I stayed at Gli Olivi for five nights in early June 2009, and from there we visited a number of fascinating cities and areas in Tuscany (if you stay at this B&B DO NOT miss the local monastery -- now just a museum -- that's about 2 km out of town, and easily walkable. The artwork makes it a mini-Vatican!) While the husband speaks virtually no English and the wife's is just "passable", we had NO problems staying there, and even getting driving recommendations for our day trips. The breakfasts (served upstairs, while the two rentable bedrooms are downstairs) were varied, generous and delicious. The immediate grounds around the house were in full bloom with an incredible array of flowers and fruits -- oranges, lemons, cherries, grapes, olives, etc., etc. One WARNING: many of the streets in Calci -- including the route down to Gli Olivi -- are REALLY narrow, and you'll want a SMALL car, and even then it may get a little hairy to negotiate some of the narrow areas and tight turns, as you pray for no oncoming traffic!

MIRETTA, our host was attentive to all our needs. With her limited english,[her husband spoke none], they were helpfull with directions and reccommending restaurants. She produced anything that we reqwested for breakfast. The grounds are kept perfectly. Other than being off the beaten path we do not have any negative thing to say about this b&b.

First impressions on arrival.
Secluded idyllic setting in the countryside.
Close enough to pisa, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Impeccably clean with views to die for over the Tuscan countryside.
The host was very curtious and could not do enough for us.
The room although basic was spotless and had everything you needed. ie kettle hairdryer etc. The room opened up to a terrace with views over the hillside.
Highly recommended for a peaceful escape.

A really lovely B & B. Villa is well located for exploring the interesting rural area surrounding Calci. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. Extensive breakfast with delicious pastries cooked fresh each day by the lady of the house. Well served by restaurants in Calci ten minutes. walk away. A large balcony with loungers and parasols has great views over the plain all the way through to the coastline around Pisa. Mountain villages are short drives away. The tortuous mountain roads display the merits of hiring a small rather than a large car. Rates at the top of locations we have visited and one which we wish to visit again and would highly recommend.

This lovely b&b is located in a very quiet and peaceful area called Calci, not far from the airport and also for Pisa centre. We were welcomed by the very friendly and adorable owners, like seriously, you would want to hug them! We had the best conversations ever. Breakfast was always delicious and abundant. When the lady found out that i was vegetarian she immediately prepared some bread with fresh tomatoes and their olive oil, it was to die for! We were always satisfied with their recommendations for restaurants and how to get to places. The apartment was big and spotless. Hand on heart, we will definitely stay at Gli Olivi on our next visit to Tuscany. Great hosts X

We unfortunately stayed only one night in this lovely B&B. It's situated in a beautiful quiet village, with a wonderful garden (which unfortunately we couldn't enjoy as it was raining all the time). The room is quite small but very comfortable, very clean and tidy. The hosts are very polite and friendly and the breakfast is excellent. Only problem is that they don't take credit card, so if you've missed it from the website (like us) you are in for a surprise, searching for cash. But we managed.

We stayed here end of September till the first week of October in 2011 and we very much enjoyed the beautiful olive trees, the warm hospitality of our hosts and the cultural benefits lovely Tuscany offers in such abundance. We'd love to go back there and enjoy some more!
