We stayed at the hotel for 9 nights at the end of August and had a fantastic time. The hotel is out of this world in terms of the uniqueness of the setting. How often would you get to stay in your own castle!! The views are incredible and whilst the rooms are fairly basic (this is not a 5...

This is a beautiful hotel, very unusual and with friendly staff and amazing views. We had booked room 21, the largest with its own balcony and views over the bay (check my pictures). The bathroom of that room is up a few steps outside of the room (which can be a little annoying at night). But other rooms have the...

Just returned from 6 wonderful days here. Knew it would be basic but that is what we wanted this year....it was a monastery after all and a unique place to stay with some fantastic views. Had a Superior double (#9) with private balcony and aircon but as the castle is so high up we only had to use it on...

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights in July. The experience was magical. Ischia Ponte is a lively, sometimes brash (but always fun) place to stay. Albergo il Monastero was a haven of calm perched high above the bustling town, and its quiet understated elegance was enjoyed enormously by both of us. Anyone booking this hotel needs to...

I would not call any of the present reviews wrong however I cannot help thinking that probably some of the travellers had no idea what kind of hotel they were booking and what hotel they actually wanted. The point is that Albergo il Monastero is far from being a usual hotel, actually it is not supposed to be perceived as...

I completely agree with the review below about the substandard rooms. We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon after getting married in Amalfi and spending time on the Amalfi coast. We paid 135 eu a night and I felt like I was in a hostel. It didn't seem like much updating had been done since...

We wanted to stay for a week but changed our minds very quickly and left after 2 days - and that was too long. USD 180 per night may not be a fortune but considering this hotel's standard it is way too much! The views are truly great but basically only from the (public!) terrace and from 2 superior rooms...

My husband and I stayed five nights at this hotel and loved every moment of our stay. The rooms are simply decorated as not to take away from the incredible view of Ischia Ponte, and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. For our stay, we enjoyed room 21, a "superior room" with a balcony offering a beautiful view...

My wife and I stayed here for three days in May. The location and views are great. We liked the room we had quite well. It is of decent size especially when you consider that these were the cells of nuns. The staff was excellent (Guilio gave us good advise and was most helpful). Guilio kindly told us ,via email,...

This was the most unique hotel I have ever stayed at. My wife and I stayed for seven nights and were treated wonderfully by all the staff. The breakfast was great and well stocked. The front staff were extremely helpful in organizing tours (Negombo is worth the trip) and always had a smile on their face. Having your own key...
