Had to find alternative to a trip we planned to make to Nice. Last July's terror attack on the Promenade des Anglais happened just the week before we were meant to travel and BA allowed us to change our package. So we chose Ischia which we had always wanted to travel to. Continentale Mare was one of the options -...

Our 5th visit. Excellent as always and well-managed by Mario Sarli. The gardens are delightful and this year the food may be said to be 5 star. Superb pasta and fish, always varied for dinner, and the chef and waiters are to be congratulated. The hotel is relaxed and very comfortable and I can recommend this charming hotel for its...

I booked a week's B&B direct with the hotel & on arrival was initially disappointed not to be allocated, as I'd requested, a room with a bath. However, this was compensated for by room 119 having a huge terrace ... even bigger than the good-sized room itself! ... from which there were fabulous views of the Bay of Naples &...

Visited Ischia for two weeks holiday and had a lovely relaxing time. The first couple of days were really stormy with thunder, lightning and even hail but after that it just got hotter and hotter. The Continental Mare is at the top of a hill and it's quite a hike from the town. 10 minutes down the hill and 15...

Precariously perched on a cliff, this hotel is lovely and affords relaxation. Some rooms offer views across the magnificent bay. Easily placed for the town centre, which is beautiful and gently vibrant in the evenings.

The location and setting on a cliff was certainly 5 star whereas the rooms were 3 star. I agree with the description of a previous reviewer that the rooms were cave like. We had room 101 which was quite dark & gloomy. The bed was too hard and gave me a sore back. I did not sleep much as a...

We have just returned from a week at the Continental Mare (last week September). Perfect location for a trip to Ischia, easy walk to Ischia Port, Castillo Aragonese, Casamicciola. Perfect weather this time of year. Found the hotel to be charming, lovely gardens, great views from grounds and 2 good pools. We also stayed in room 313 (like a previous...

Just returned after week here. I agree with previous reviewer that your experience of this Hotel may depend on the room you are allocated! We were given 313 which is next to top pool . It was damp and had some mould on walls . We asked to be moved and ended up in 109 which was fine . I...

We have just returned from this hotel and even though we had a lovely time there were a few things I thought other travellers would be interested in. The good points were how quiet it is, plenty sun beds, stunning views and friendly staff. The bad points were no information pack in the room so we were constantly at reception...
