My husband and I stayed in this hotel a couple of days in May. We loved this place!

Beautiful and peaceful location... Highly recommend. Easiest to reach by boat so a little remote but thought this adds to the charm....Would definitely love to return... The pool is thermal and there are also thermal pools amongst the rocks at the beach. The owners and...More

I stayed here for two nights and it was sensational. We enjoyed all of it, the taxi boat to the hotel (especially at night time), the private beach front with natural thermal pools (great for morning swims as no one was around), the beautiful views...More

Are you coming from Rome? If so, you need to take the train to Termini (Central Station), from which you can catch the Frecciarossa (high speed) train to Napoli (Naples). It takes about an hour, after which you need to go take a ferry to the island. We took the fast NAPOLI - ISCHIA ferry from the port Napoli - Molo Beverello, the ferries run every 30 minutes to an hour.
You need to ask where they stop in Ischia because there are 3 ports - you want to be closest to Ischia Porto, otherwise you need to take a taxi to it or straight to Ischia Ponte, which is your ultimately desired destination.
Once in Ischia Porto, you take a bus to Ischia Ponte near Piazzale Aragonese where you take the water taxi. To get to Ischia Ponte, you can take a taxi (ask the taxi driver for the "tariffa comunale" and the price is € 12,00) or take a public bus in Ischia Porto, number 7, always for Ischia Ponte; the water taxi meet point is the same, Ischia Ponte near Villa Antonio. The water taxis run 24/7 and the first one is booked by the Albergo da Maria.
It sounds complicated but it's not. So Rome FCO - Termini - Naples - Port Molo Beverello - Ischia Porto (ideally) - Ischia Ponte. At Ischia Ponte you take your 5 minute water taxi around the Aragonese Castle and you'll arrive to Albergo da Maria, which is a beautiful place to say in.

When you are ready to go the hotel reception will phone the taxi for you. It takes a few minutes to come. Coming back there are two locations, one the last taxi is 10pm and the other is midnight. The reception staff will explain more. We never had any problems in getting to and from the hotel and it all added to the experience! Have fun
