this was our 2nd visit in the last 5 years. There had been quite a bit of work done at the site since the first time - addition of a large swimming pool (though unheated) and a pleasant bar/restaurant. The location on the river is beautiful and it's only a 10 minute walk into the pretty little town. The crazy golf on the walk into town is still a favourite as the sweet old lady who runs it makes a great crepe which is half the cost of town prices. A visit to the castle is worthwhile, also a kayak trip on the Ourthe is a must. We also went up to the Wildlife Park which was worth visiting. The campsite itself falls short on a couple of things - only 6 amp electric, so only one thing on at a time, a LOT of seasonal pitches (mostly with neat little gardens), chilly showers rooms at there's no external door to the block, and there's no bench to sit and dry in the showers and no shower curtain so water goes everywhere. Also no toilet paper. But they were kept clean. Staff were friendly.

Site got top marks from myself and fully deserved for location and general feel to the place. My only gripe would be paying for showers and paying for the dog but as this seems to be the way in belgium there's no way I could knock points off for it. So the site is for locals by this I mean Belgians,Dutch and those areas around there, there's a lot of statics but also very popular with general campers. There is a bar on site and a chip van, table tennis and other sports activities. The grass was kept short which I like and the whole site was very neat and tidy and beside a shallow river in a valley surrounded by huge pine trees, like the title says beautiful. Ok now for motorhome, electric, two adults and a dog it was €21.50 shower tokens are extra at €1 for 8 mins.Staff very polite and speak good english.Peaceful day and quiet night was had and I recommend as La Roche En Ardenne town is also beautiful and 10 mins walk away.
