hurrican Otto drove our party of four from the Caribbean coast back to Managua, which was not going to be fun. So, on a whim we booked Patio del Malinche and headed to Granada. I think it was the highlight of our trip. Service was excellent, premises were secure at night, and the exterior of the hotel opens to reveal...

Beautiful hotel close to the center of the nice city of Granada. Very well managed by the Spanish owner Ramon, resulting in very friendly and pro-active staff, delivering outstanding service for the visitors. You really feel being a guest here! The owner gave on demand very good and valuable advise, especially enjoyed our trip to El Chocoyero.

Great little hotel only one block (5 minute walk) away from the centre of town and close to a lot of the major sights. Hotel offers a choice of three breakfasts, all fruit, cereal and fruit or fried all accompanied with toast and coffee. It's lovely small hotel near the main square of Granada. After exploring the volcanoes you can relax in the swimming pool and enjoy some drink prepared in the bar. Rooms are very small but hotel has very good services. Breakfast is served after choice from the menu. Not far from the Managua airport.

The location was top notch; it was convenient to walk to many restaurants and sights in this pretty, historic city. It seemed to be a re-creation of a historic hotel and had very old Spanish style and characteristics. It was reasonably comfortable and the included breakfasts were great. We had a room right at the top of the stairs on...

Great location. A block or two to almost anywhere, including food and entertainment. Refreshing swimming pool with shade trees.Very accommodating and knowledgeable staff. All you'd want in a small hotel with a local ambiance.

The hotel is located in an old style house with a lovely patio and nice seating area, since all the rooms face the inside of the patio it is very quiet. The breakfast served is freshly prepared and includes fresh fruits, fruits juice, toast, jam and butter as well as an egg dish of your choice.

Nice little hotel, with a great garden and a small pool. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and serves a great and personal breakfast at the patio. Located in the city center but still very quiet. Recommended!

Granada is a busy town with so much to do. But this hotel creates it's own escape. From the garden surrounded by hammocks on each side, to the pool, it was truly tranquil. I had the fruit breakfast and it very easily one of the best breakfasts I have ever had.

Very familiar, staff always helps us to choose the best itinerary and suggest the best places to visit, so it is important for the first time on Granada. Quiet place even is located in the center of Granada. Confortable rooms, good pool, staff very helpful. Perfect place to rest after touring.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
More than a place in the world, a house is a place in one's heart. El Patio del Malinche is more than just another hotel, it's a dream come true. Our interest to live in a different culture and to get to know new horizons took us to the ancient town of Granada. The sun-dried bricks of Granada's old walls and the hospitality of its people bewitched us. By restoring an old colonial house we relived a life of peace and serenity created by its inside patios full of history. We hope our guests will be able to revive and share with us the atmosphere of other times. We will be delighted to share our house, where life pours from every corner. ... more   less
