We booked two standard rooms and stayed there for one night. One of the rooms, ours was nice but the other room we booked for my sister did not have a balcony or patio as described. That room was down a narrow walkway, way in the back with a basement feel to it. When we approached the front staff the...

The room was very nice, the hotel is beautiful, the pool is lovely and the animals that live there are sweet. But I expected more from this hotel. It just isn't worth it to pay to stay here. Service: Our dirty glasses weren't cleaned or replaced when the rooms where cleaned each day. The wait for breakfast was quite long....

This is a restored colonial home with a really great pool and spa area! The pool was perfectly cool in heat of the day and I 100% recommend the chocolate massage at the spa. We came during Semana Santa, so it was quite busy and prices were a bit higher. My boyfriend was traveling from Honduras without his passport (which...

Our family of three stayed here for two nights on a trip to Granada. And we loved it! Our triple deluxe room was huge, well equipped and extremely clean. The water was piping hot (a novelty in Nicaragua!) and the AC gave a welcome break from the heat. The hotel is extremely charming, with old colonial features throughout. The courtyards,...

The chocolate-making "lesson" is not to be missed. And we loved the funky furniture and unique feel of the Mansion (hadn't seen ducks or a resident rabbit at any of our previous stays). The staff was low-key but friendly. And we can't say enough great things about Tony Florez, who alternated seamlessly between translating for us Spanish-challenged gringos; going way...

Spent 1 month in San Juan del sur surfing and my boyfriend and I wanted to spend the last couple days just relaxing. We found this property on line and decided to give it a try mostly because they have a spa. The property is massive and with wonderful history dating back to the 1800s. It belonged to the president...

My husband and I recently went on a medical mission trip to Nicaragua and had a few extra days at the end of the trip to visit friends. The Chocolate Mansion Hotel in Granada was suggested as a great place to stay- beautiful with many amenities but not as pricey as staying at a Nicaraguan beach at this time of...

Such an interesting spot, I loved the old creaky wooden floors, the long meandering hallways, huge wooden doors, so much character. This is not a 'North American' styled hotel, don't be expecting a glittering hotel- it is so much better!! We stayed in the Azteca on the 2nd floor, lovely huge windows, lots of light, quiet, beautiful furniture. I would...

This hotel was amazing to stay at! After the horror I experienced at Hotel Real Granada, It was safe to say I was extremely happy to have arrived at Mansion de Chocolate. It was safe, great staff, clean rooms, and also huge discounts for spa services only for hotel guests. The pool area was cute with a bar and a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mansion De Chocolate is located in the center of Granada and is housed in the largest intact surviving colonial mansion of Granada. It comprises five courtyard gardens, each with its own distinctive flavor. Decorated with edgy modern furnishings, Mansion De Chocolate has the feeling of a hip modern hotel in an authentic colonial setting, creating a unique blending of the modern and the traditional. Always benefiting from the breezes from Lake Cocibolca, the large shared balconies provide an ideal vantage point from which to watch the glorious Nicaraguan sunsets. You'll enjoy refreshing yourself in the hotel's 60 foot swimming pool in a flowery patio with bar and relaxing in our ChocoSpa, where we offer treatments based on cacao and chocolate. In our ChocoMuseo we offer you a daily all you can eat breakfast buffet and delicious chocolate products. Do the 'from bean to bar workshop' and you'll learn a lot about chocolate and its history, flavor and benefits. ... more   less
