Our family had a wonderful 4 night stay here. The resort is beautiful and peaceful, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the happy hour cocktails were great value. We had such a relaxing stay and would happily come back.
We stayed during the Covid uncertainty, and as such the hotel was very quiet. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff, although we didn’t really see the owner - not surprising given the circumstances. However, we were looked after by the manager, Thip and her small team. It was a very relaxing time for us all - we had a two bedroom villa with rooftop jacuzzi overlooking the pool and sea. We didn’t do much apart from eat and laze around! I agree with other reviews that the food is of a good quality and reasonably priced. They were more than happy to go off menu, or tweak meals for fussy children and would bring food to the room as well as serving in the restaurant. Staff had excellent English, which helped things go smoothly. Unfortunately, my Thai is not up to scratch! The hotel was pretty much empty when we checked out due to the new wave of Covid in Thailand. I hope things get back to normal soon, and that the hotel has more visitors next year.…
We enjoyed 3 days at the beautiful Serenity Resort in Koh Chang. The location is very convenient to the ferry terminal, but far enough of the road that we didn't notice traffic at all. Our little bungalow had a view of the ocean and the open air restaurant was right on the beach! ( with good food-- both western and Thai food. ) The staff was so accommodating and helpful... we really appreciated their care for us. We will definitely return!!
We are back home after spending 5 nights at the resort and can not recommend it enough. We first made contact with Steve and he responded quickly to all my questions. Serenity Resort is situated about 7 km from the ferry terminal on the quiet side of the island. At the moment the supposedly busy coast of Koh Chang felt very strange with shuttered hotels and restaurants and I was very pleased we were staying at Serenity as whilst it was peaceful and relaxing there were enough guests staying to provide a nice atmosphere. There is a small red sand beach shared between three similar resorts and Steve provides kayaks and paddle boards free of charge. The infinity swimming pool has a good supply of sun beds and beautiful gardens are maintained throughout the resort. Add the wonderful staff, it is perhaps unfair, but I will do it anyway, to single out Thip's cooking but it was so good. The menu is very family friendly but she is happy to cook more elaborate meals on request - she cooked a special birthday dinner for me. Steve, you have a great small resort, no doubt at all because of your lead - Thanks for our stay.…
Perfect from start to finish. Booking was a breeze. Steve responded promptly to all my questions and organised our transfer from Bangkok to Serenity for us. The initial idea was to stay in the quieter side of the Island so we could head out if we felt like getting amongst it. Got a ride with Keith to White Sands the day after we arrived and didn’t feel the need to go back again during our 7 day stay. Serenity had everything we needed. Fantastic two bedroom villa with perfect roof terrace for chillin. Perfect little beach with another couple of resorts on if you fancy a stroll. Well looked after paddle boards and kayaks to use free of charge. Good sized pool overlooking the beach and ample sun beds/loungers, hammocks and deck chairs dotted around. We only ate at Serenity. It would have been foolish to go elsewhere. The food was so good and Thip the most amazing chef. I would recommend the Saturday night bbq - mainly because you can go back for more! It’s seriously good. The staff were all excellent - happy, attentive, polite. You can tell a lot about management of a place by the attitude of the staff. This was a happy ship. Steve and his staff made the stay something special for us. He read his guests and tailored their experience accordingly. Everything he suggested or organised for us was absolutely spot on. Not a one size suits all approach. Shopping expedition, island tours, seafood lunch, cricket game, boat and snorkeling trip, fire show, cocktails, dancing under the stars - I could waffle on for ages but instead I suggest you just go try it out for yourselves. You won’t be sorry. Thanks Steve, Keith, Kate, Thip, Lewis, Lee, the rest of the staff, Emily the dog, Di and Di for a unique and wonderful holiday experience. …
This is just the most fabulous resort on quiet side of Koh Chang. The Serenity is set on a small lovely beach in well cared for gardens and the accommodation is superb. The food and service is absolutely excellent, Steve, Thip, Keith and all the staff make it feel like a homecoming, nothing is too much trouble. A truly fabulous place to stay and value for money. The facilities are all thigh standard and well maintained, the swimming pool is ideal for adults and youngsters alike. Kayaks and paddle-boards are available without booking and at no extra charge so the stay was completely stress free. Thanks guys for a memorable stay, see you again. Can't recommend it more.
We have visited Serenity every year since we discovered it 5 years ago and cannot recommend it highly enough! So relaxing, friendly, amazing food and you come away feeling like part of a family, Steve, Keith, Tip and Kate go out of their way to make your stay special. It is placed on the quiet side of the island but a free shuttle available daily to visit the busier side when you want to explore.Kayaks, paddle boards and bikes free to use and great cocktails 99 baht from 4-7pm!!Love this piece of paradise
If you are after brilliant service, fantastic fresh and delicious food, attentive but not sycophantic staff, wonderful privately-arranged trips - kayaking, remote beaches, snorkelling, fishing, makro (thank you, Keith!), delicious fish lunch out - and a sense of complete relaxation after your visit... this is the place for you. Already planning our return. Don’t think twice. Do be warned though, the food is dangerously good. This is a gastronomic experience thanks to Tip, the fantastic chef who continuously delighted us with a great range of dishes. Being asked by Steve to join in with the local beach cricket game added to the feeling of being part of a group of friends from the minute we arrived. Oh, and we forgot to mention the beach fire show!
A beautiful, peaceful location with everything we desired. Great views, immaculately clean & spacious room with comfortable bed. Great shower! Wonderful pool overlooking the sea, with plentiful sun beds & shade if needed. Kayaks & paddle boards free to use. On holiday we normally like to eat away from the place we’re staying, but we had every single meal here over 4 days. Why wouldn’t you? The lovely, open restaurant is great. Fantastic choices at breakfast, lunch & dinner. Thip, the wonderful chef & restaurant manager (& more!) is passionate about food & it shows. The quality of ingredients & the meals were all absolutely bang on, with every last member of staff being well trained, friendly & most attentive. That’s what makes a good place great - the people. Owner Steve, & his dad Keith, are genuinely, lovely people. On hand much of the time, they go out of their way to help you. Serenity is so well run, the team make it look easy but you know everyone works hard at it. It seems to attract a lovely mix of people. When we were there, there was a range of ages, including young families & many different nationalities. The result is a warm, friendly & super relaxed place. …
Serenity resort exceeded all expectations. The location is simply one of the best on the island. Directly on an immaculately clean, secluded beach with the most beautiful red sand. Away from the masses and still only a 15 minute ride from the ‘crazy’. Although ones you arrive you will completely lose the will to go anywhere else ;) Beautiful and quite luxurious bungalows, charming decor for a very very reasonable price. Stylish and nice pool with loungers and umbrellas. Price/quality can’t be beaten imo. The thing that really sets them apart from other places is the personal approach, Steve the owner, his father Keith, Tip and all the staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and at home. Anything is possible and they all have a way of making you feel like you are the only guest there and no question is too much. Our children had the best time ever. The restaurant served excellent food for excellent prices, we were quit worried about that because normally resorts can go quit crazy on food prices but, in line with all the rest of the service, the owners do their job out of passion, not to get rich. That also shows from the fact that they offer free kayaks and peddle boards for guests to use!! We’d like to thank all the staff for taking such good care of us and we hope we can come back some time.…
