Siam Bay Resort is a last quiet family resort on Koh Chang's beautiful west coast. Being located at the very end of Kai Bae beach, there are no clubs or beach bars with loud thumping music to keep you awake, there are no outsiders that just walk in and squat all the best places on the beach or next to the pool, there is no traffic noise: it is just you, your loved ones, an extremely safe beach and lots and lots of peace and quiet.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Family bungalow suitable for 4 people and you will find a big lawn and sea in front of the room and enough area for your dog to play , We were greeted well, Staff was very supportive and polite.. Nice scenic view of property. Rooms are average, toilets below average and not so well maintained, toilets and bathrooms can choked at times. The property is big so you can find some new constructed villas which do look better. I stayed in room 307.. BUT while leaving the room I was surprised to hear from staff that TV screen is broken and I have to pay for the damage, Later when I went again to see what happened exactly then they showed me a minor scratch on TV screen which was less than 0.2 cm and not visible unless you really come close to the TV. I told them this is rubbish and know one can identify it. I have asked them to show me the proof. I heard from some low level staff that you have a dog, Yes I have a dog and it's a German Shepherd, He won't give a 0.2cm scratch but can break the entire TV. For 30 mins I was bit worried, shocked and surprised coz no one want to pay for damage which was not done by you. Finally the Manager has agreed my argument and I left without paying any penalty for something which I have not done. . Though I am giving 4 star coz it's value for money property and the staff was really polite specially nef the reception girl and the Manger. Advice : If you will be visiting the property please do have a really close look at the TV with high quality lens:).

Siam Bay was surprisingly charming. The food was excellent and the staff was amazing! The monkeys were bothersome for a short time each morning, and accomodations are simple but an excellent value for the price. Try an ocean front room.

This place is in a perfect location with great staff and good food .

Beds could be a little more comfortable.
But the biggest problem is that the internet never worked in the room and barely
In the front.

That is a big problem when you are traveling and trying to manage trips and some work .

Hopefully the owner or manager can get a handle on this so we can stay there again.

Team has another meeting in koh Chang and we just aren’t confident that they will be able to deliver.

So unfortunately we may not get the chance to return.

We really like this place, it is old and dated. But it has these 4 or 5 bungalows right on the water, if you can get lucky to book one. They are super old style koh chang, but you have a crazy view of the small island right from your bed, water at your feet, etc. The rest of the resort rooms can be super dated, so be careful which one you book. Super quiet, very remote, you need to have a car or a motorbike, you are far down a long road from the main road. Kinda quirky place.

One of the first resorts on Koh Chang that still maintains its quiet and peaceful ambiance. It is situated on Kai Bae Beach on the lower west side of the island which is not so steep and rugged as the upper beach. We have an exiting experience on the ride before we reach the gateway of the resort- many sharp curves and abruptly fallen deep down and up of the terrain . We were the only Thais amongst
foreigners accommodated in 46 bungalows on hills and along the beach. We arrived at noon when the tide is low , so we enjoyed walking on the beach on setting sun. The scenery is fantastic. Dinner here is superb , fresh seafood for its excellent preparation and many more.
Koh Chang now has turned to be a popular place to seek relaxation and peacefullness . In the time of Franco- Thai War (1940-1941), the sole Naval Battle of Koh Chang happened on the south on 17 January 1941.
Things change by time but the beauty of nature is still on Koh Chang is Tan Mayom Waterfall.

Beautiful location and quaint accommodation. The staff were exceptional and very helpful planning exciting outings.
The property is on the beachfront with stunning views of neighboring islands. Kayaks available to rent by the hour to take to nearby islands.

A most peaceful and relaxing resort. In the Beach front bungalow you have lovely sunsets and wake up to a view across the bay to islands, magnificent.
Service is fantastic, food ls amazing. We visited off season so there was lots of renovation and construction going on along the beach but it did not interfere with paradise. Thank you to all the very freindly staff.

Nice hotel in a quiet part of the island. All rooms are like small bungalows. Every room has a magnificent view over the sea with beautiful sunsets. The pool was nice and clean. The restaurant is outdoors and the food was great. We would love to come back some day.

We booked 2 rooms but housekeeping only cleaned one room. When I asked why I was told I had to put a sign asking for the room to be cleaned.

Service is awful! Whenever I ask for something they make you feel like a criminal. Never coming back again!

This promised much - a good price, refurbished bungalows, a quiet location and a competitive price. Alas, it delivered so little.
Our arrival was early evening, and we felt awkward as the reception staff dealt with us in a fairly dismissal tone. We were shown to the "newly refurbished" bungalows. (Viman Buri Bay View Bungalows)
Pros
The main room was a good size, and had a television and surfaces to put things on, as well as a wardrobe. The view was quite good due to its high position on the hill.
Cons
The climb to the bungalow was up steep and quite slippery steps, and our bungalow seemed to be on a thoroughfare for the other nearby ones, and often someone would walk past.
The room was not as clean as I would have expected, with surfaces dusty. The bathroom was fair.
Even though the fridge/minibar had been promised back in February 2010, there was no sign of this. Probably worst of all was the bed; it was like sleeping on a large dining table. Very small bugs were crawling on the bedding when we awoke the following morning.
The restaurant had a good central location, and although the vegetarian options were not always listed on the menu, they were able to provide them on request.
However, the staff all disappeared at 9pm. This meant that there was no option to buy another beer, or to order anything else. The dirty plates were left out overnight to attract insects, and one guest, locked out of his room, was unable to find anyone to help him and was last seen walking the half an hour along a dark and very dangerous road.
A walk along the beach the following revealed a number of other resorts, many of which had internet. Sadly there was no internet access at Siam Bay resort.
After a disappointing stay, and a very uncomfortable sleep (that bed!) we called a songtheaw and left.
