A vintage hotel. Probably great in it's day. The owner was friendly. Everything worked ok. Limited tv reception. But if in need of a place to stay this hotel served us well. The hotel also had an interesting library in the office.

We stayed in this motel several times some years ago and it was fine -- vintage furnishings, very basic, but it was clean and well-maintained. Things have definitely gone downhill -- carpet on the stairs to the second floor is frayed and dirty, 2 out of 3 overhead lights in our room were burned out, one of the beds was...

Please allow the Head Housekeeper to apologize. I had employed students for the summer and I did not police their work as well as I should have. The rooms have been deep cleaned and we are in process of providing new upgrades to the rooms (curtains, mattresses, etc.) and hope to provide a more comfortable experience for all our future...

not much choice as we went with a birding group and there is nowhere else to stay around there. the room stunk of cigarette smoke and nobody on duty to complain to. Run down and worn out and the doors were not very secure so do not leave any valuables

Although all of our rooms are non-smoking, we do occasionally get guests who abuse this. Eradicating the smell is sometimes difficult, but we do have housekeepers that are very dedicated to maintaining clean rooms. The Montvallee Motel is a basic type of lodging option, but we do pride ourselves on having clean accommodations. There is staff available 24 hours a...

A good value and clean. Pretty comfy beds with clean linens. Why only three stars? Probably 2.5 stars is being generous for this old place but nice managers, big rooms bump it up. Some of the rooms have three beds. One staircase serves the entire L-shaped upstairs which is odd and does not seem up to code, at least where...

Very, very helpful, cheerful staff. VERY clean. Centrally located to town, easy walking distance. Liked the Retro bathroom. The peeling wall paper needs to be replaced. But more importantly room 5 is VERY NOISY, next to the furnace which popped & woke us up several times each night. Also too hot, even with windows open during snow. Not very restful....
