Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have to give a shout out to Yvette at the front desk! She was awesome! Friendly, positive attitude and great customer service. Early check-in available. Room was clean and spacious. Nice TV, refrigerator, and sofa. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was extremely clean!! Everyone we encountered during our weekend stay was helpful and courteous. We were in this area for my husband’s aunt’s 90th birthday party. As usual, we were traveling with our Westie (pup). We needed an early check-in (an hour or so), so we could freshen up and leave our pup in the room while we attended the party. Summer at the reception/check-in desk made this happen with no problem. Even though the pet friendly rooms were on the first floor, it was extremely quiet and peaceful during our stay. The breakfast on Sunday was great. Everything was fresh and kept replenished. We are very thankful that most Hampton Inns are pet friendly, and wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to stay here again.

We tried really hard to give more points for our stay here....2 nights. We called the day before to see what breakfast would look like. We recognize that breakfast are vastly different now with Covid still in practice. However, it seems that by the next morning they were out of a lot of the things that were mentioned to us, including milk. They didn't know when they would have more milk. Maybe in a few days, maybe next week! We bought our own milk and brought it with us. It actually turned out well that we thought to bring our own breakfast with us 'just in case'. The rooms seem to be in need of some extra TLC as they seemed 'tired'. The lighting was dim in parts of our room.....especially over the sofa bed/parlor area. The light bulb in the floor lamp by the overstuffed chair was actually 'hanging out' of its socket. Fire hazard? Don't know. I guess the real clincher for the 3 points was when the cleaning lady walked in on us at 9:27 a.m. after she knocked. I answered her and told her we were still in th room. She cam in anyway. Check is 11:00 a.m. so we still had plenty of time before we needed to be out of the room. A bit unnerving when someone walks into your room! I don't do well with that. I was half way to the door to talk to her in person when she walked in. And this was AFTER I had verbally said outlaid that we were still in the room. Not sure we will make this a 'home away from home' in the future.

Seriously?!?? I was charged nearly $300 for a one night stay. I originally tried to stay at the next door Holiday Inn but they did not allow dogs. Room was filthy, cracked tiles and water stains/mildew in the shower. Broken things throughout. Window blinds didn’t go all the way down so was up half the night with lights from cars in the parking lot. Finally shoved some pillows in there. Breakfast started 20 minutes late so I was staring off my day already off schedule. Coffee maker in the room so filthy I could not even have a coffee there while I waited. I travel from SC to the northeast frequently and have not seen such conditions for so much money in a long while. I will not stay at this facility again. Not acceptable.

Stayed there two weeks ago. They are renovating the hotel and are working on the 1st floor rooms and the pool. Was on the 2nd floor in a remodeled room. The furniture and bed were new. The bed was comfortable. However there was hallway noise from other guests talking, doors loudly closing, and running in the hall, and noise from walking in the room above. I requested a top floor room but was given a 2nd floor room and forgot to ask if there were any available top floor rooms. The owner could consider adding noise reduction to the hallway walls and could have put down floor dampening products on the 3rd floor rooms.
The room faced the parking lot and could hear diesel truck running and radio for about an hour in the early evening.
The parking lot can get a bit full with renovation storage and workers but did not have a problem finding a spot. There are two restaurants withing walking distance.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Ample hot and cold choices at breakfast.

Upon arriving at the hotel we noticed the parking lot was a complete disaster with construction debris and trash everywhere. We checked in around 10:15PM only to be assigned a room next to one that had dogs who were barking nonstop. I immediately went downstairs to ask for a different room, to which they agreed to and said they have had multiple complaints about the dogs barking. Yet, nobody took it upon themselves to go speak with the family who owned the dogs.
We moved to our newly assigned room and were shocked upon entering into it. The room was filthy. There was construction dust everywhere, the AC unit was completely covered in white powder, the closet was missing the door and rod to hang clothes up on. The bed linens were missing for the pullout couch. I attempted to call downstairs only to learn the phone didn't work because the wire was just hanging and the plug was broken. We finally made contact again with the front desk and was told they would bring us bed linens but there was nothing they could do about the room. Once we received the bed linens we noticed they were covered in stains. Since we were in town for a family funeral we did not have a choice but to stay. Thankfully, we travel with Clorox wipes and spray so I cleaned the room myself. The next morning I immediately went downstairs to speak with a manager and was told there wasn't one working. The front desk clerk stated there wasn't anything that could be done and my only option was to email my complaint. I immediately sent an email and to date have not received any response.

Not what we normally expect at a Hampton. The hotel has been recently “remodeled “ and the work is terrible. Bathroom door has to be propped open…shower doors wouldn’t stay closed…door to hall improperly hung…no baseboards came together properly just to mention a few things….horrible workmanship we could see made us wonder what lurked beneath as far as plumbing and electrical and the like….and wonder how this place passed any sort of inspection for occupancy….very uncomfortable staying there and very ready to leave in the morning…

The people at the front desk were especially nice..particularly Mark. I loved the Jacuzzi. However, there were strands of hair in the tub and hair was also on the toilet rim. So, the person cleaning the room seemed to have skipped on making sure these two areas were really clean. And I expected a little bit more from breakfast. Everyday that I checked they only had pork or beef. I as a rule don't eat either. So, it would have been great if they had some turkey sausage or turkey bacon at least every other day just to change it up. And I've been to some Hamptons and that was the case. I stayed at this particular hotel for 3 nights.

This place is really bad, it is dirty, moldy and it smells bad. The staff was friendly but I will never stay here again. Hampton should be ashamed of the rate they charge. It seems like this is just an old faculty and it has been forgotten. It is in serious need of an overhaul or better yet, tear it down and start over again.

This hotel is very clearly mismanaged. There seems to be no routine maintenance for common issues like bathtub caulking, ceiling repairs, worn bedding, stained couches, and stained carpets. The tub had a large gap between it and wall where water was entering - it had either mildew or mold stains. The indoor pool area was closed because of COVID (understood and appreciated), however it still had water in it that had turned very green and was visible from the front desk/adjacent to front entry. Overall, this is worst kept Hampton Inn property I have stayed in. (Diamond Rewards Member).

Is there a hottub?

I'm not 100% certain about the answer, they offer laundry/valet services, but whether these are independent services or combined I do not know. I'm sure a quick phone call would provide the answer. 1-804-559-0559
Answer from Edward M

While we do have plus sized rooms and rooms with whirlpool tubs, we do not have any 2-bedroom suites or "spa services." I do apologize for any confusion and hope that if you have a moment in the near future you could reach out to my office at 804-559-0559 with your confirmation number so we can look into this further for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
