We have visited Primland many times and it's quickly becoming one of our favorite places to stay. The resort is spectacular and very European in feel. The contemporary rooms are large and very comfortable. The restaurant is a bit formal but delicious but we often eat at the bar. The barbecue at The Stable Saloon was wonderful and they will...

My wife and I were here the last week of December for a 5 day getaway. The facility is lovely, the people great, the food very tasty and so many activities. Loved the star gazing! Book this early as it sales out fast. So many hiking trails, ATV rides, horse trail rides, hunting and fishing, as well as golf. If...

Fantastic. Utterly perfect in every way. The staff, the food, the accommodations...all flawless. A wonderful time to celebrate my wife's birthday. And if you are a bacon fan, the pig candy is a must. Thank you for everything.

I can't say enough about this resort. We stayed in the Blue Ridge Suite. It was beautiful! The bed linens and mattress are wonderful. The bathroom was very clean and nice. Great shower! White robes and slippers provided. Bvlgari toiletries. Also another cool feature-the shades raise and lower by pushing a button. There's even a button by your bed! Also...

Let me start by saying nothing is average about this resort. The accommodations are beautiful (we stayed in the lodge). It truly is a gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains. However, when paying a premium for this resort you expect premium service as well. Upon arrival, we were happy to see our beautiful Blue Ridge suite. However, the room was...

My husband and I stayed just one night but made the most of it. We arrived well before check-in time and I indulged in the 3.5 hour Signature Day Experience in the spa and my husband golfed. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Since it was off-season my husband had the golf course to himself (and for a fraction of the...

Wife and I spent 2 nights right after Christmas on a last minute trip to Primland. We stayed in one of the Pinnacle Cottages - Oriole 71. When we walked into the room we were totally impressed with the comfort and refined feel of the room. The bathroom was equally stunning. The bed felt like we were on a cloud....

A dear friend of ours took us to Primland Resort in Meadows Of Dan Virginia. Cynthia Cox works there and loves the place. We had never heard of it nor had we ever been to the Blue Ridge Mountains. We truly did not expect much; although Cynthia made it sound like Heaven on earth. Primland surpassed our wildest expectations!! It...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Escape There are many people at Primland with an abiding respect for the land, who know the sounds and smells of the forest so intimately, they will open your eyes to the simple pleasure of a mountain getaway at this refined East Coast vacation resort. They will show you the subtleties of nature and reacquaint you with the restorative powers of silence. Your server will remember just how you take your drink, your children's names and that you like a freshly baked cookie after lunch. You will sense the love your wilderness guide has for the mountain and all its creatures, and the depth of his expertise. You will always find a kind word, authentic humor and an open heart. It was the vision of Primland's founder, Didier Primat, to create a place of immense beauty that offers his guests a return to simple human pleasures in an environment of refined authenticity and sensuality. He developed Primland in an eco-conscious and thoughtful manner, as the ultimate retreat for world-class golf, refined dining and outdoor activities. Our love of the land is expressed in our extensive efforts to minimize our impact on nature, the freshness of our food, the many organic, sustainable ingredients we source locally or grow in our organic garden and the care with which we look after our guests. Didier Primat instilled his passion for Primland in every member of his family and staff , and they carry forward his legacy with soul, with heart and with a commitment to genuine hospitality. Art is an important part of the Primland experience. We consider hospitality to be an art that involves sharing emotion and pleasure through attention to even the most subtle detail. We also feel that surrounding you with inspired pieces of art enhances your experience. Throughout The Lodge, you will find hand-selected works by American artists as well as authentic and rare Aboriginal paintings from the most remote Australian territories. ... more   less
