My husband and I hail from Marion, MA, and when we drive to San Antonio for family get togethers twice yearly, we try to visit towns named Marion, and BTW, there are many towns so named. This small historic hotel with adjoining bistro is quiet, comfortable and affordable. Our "Junior Queen" room was tastefully appointed with custom draperies, large desk,...

Old hotel that has been redone. Room was clean and lovely even though a little small. An outstanding breakfast was included and the attendant was pleasant and actually made our waffles! Breakfast on Sunday mornings is "Pack and Go" because restaurant "Speakeasy" has a paid brunch open to the public. Hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful. Definitely plan on...

An outstanding old but gracious and well appointed hotel. I have a marvelous stay and slept in a most comfortable bed. You experience the hotel and all the history of the town while touring the street rich with entertainment and good food

Great to stay in an classic hotel in a nice town. This is an old hotel that has been redone. The Speakeasy Restaurant in the hotel was outstanding for dinner and the breakfast which was included with the price. Would return again for sure.

The GFMH was a perfect home for a long weekend that included a Saturday night concert at the Lincoln Theatre a few doors down. It is a wonderfully restored hotel that reflects a "Grand" era but on a smaller, more intimate scale. Our Executive Suite offered two spacious rooms separated by heavy doors; both nicely decorated and very comfortable, including...

This is an extremely charming hotel in southwest Virginia. We stayed two nights. Unfortunately, the hotel's restaurant was closed both nights we were there (Sunday and Monday), and we had to eat elsewhere, but there are other restaurants very close by. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself was very clean and located right downtown. The...

Very comfortable, clean and quite. A very good included breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. Hotel overall showing a little wear and tear. Town also a little rundown and limited additional eating choices other than the hotel. Only ate breakfast there. I stayed the night on a motorcycle trip.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was adequate in size and the bed fine. However the rug had several stains, the thermostat was hard to regulate and the hall had a strange smell. Staff were very nice. Breakfast is included but just ok. Marion is a very small and quiet town and the action is out of town at...

Found the General Francis online while searching area accommodations. This a is great getaway. Comfortable updated rooms in a nearly century old building. Professional, courteous and friendly staff. Speakeasy restaurant on premises, comfortable with affordable and delicious bistro style selections. Continental breakfast was ok, but I personally don't stay in a hotel based on it's breakfast. Great placed as base...
