We have stayed at Prospect Hill Plantation twice and plan to return again. The atmosphere is elegant but casual and lived in. We felt very at home and were treated like special guests by everyone. The food was delicious and we so enjoyed our walks visiting the animals, Jack jack the donkey and the alpaca baby was adorable, born right...

We recently had the pleasure of enjoying a long, holiday weekend at Prospect Hill. We stayed in Miss Marcie's room, that was beautifully decorated, exceptionally comfortable, and very quiet, despite being directly above the dining room. The house, grounds and amenities are in of themselves a destination in the greater Charlottesville area. The owners and those involved in maintaining this...

We just spent two nights in the Carriage House at Prospect Hill Plantation Inn, and I cannot say enough good things about the place, the people, and the experience. Nicely located near Ashlawn (Pres. Monroe) and Montpelier (Pres. Madison) we were able to enjoy touring these historical homes, and then came back for a refreshing swim at the pool, a...

Very old Inn (1732) that was a slave plantation. The hosts were gracious and we were given a card with the Plantation's history which was interesting. The owners have had the Inn for three years and are working on bringing the property back to its original beauty. Our cottage (the old horse barn) had been redecorated. The pool area needed...

My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Prospect Hill, a place we have been visiting for 15 years. Prospect Hill is a wonderful inn and the hosts made us feel as welcome as family. We have stayed in the Sanco Pansy cottage twice. This trip, we stayed in the Overseer's Cottage and we loved it. We have arranged...

Just returned from another wonderful stay. Quiet and peaceful grounds with dogs and cats and chickens! Love it!!! We took the new nature trail walk and loved the feeling of being in the woods. We stayed in a new room for us, Sanco Pansy cabin. It was quiet and well maintained plus all the amenities you will need for your...

We spent our anniversary at the Prospect Hill Plantation Inn this year. We stayed in the "Boy's Cabin" which was adorable, built in the 1600's! The bathroom had been added to the back of the cabin several years ago and was badly in need of some updating. We felt this way about much of the property, which looked to be...

The glow from the overall experience is still with us. Thomas Jefferson, born after Prospect Hill was a plantation, wrote that "tranquil felicity" was the perfect state. The modern neuroscience writer Antonio Demasio describes felicitous stillness as inner peace and contentment. We stayed in one of the former outbuildings with a plantation fireplace, a modern Jacuzzi, and a timeless view...

We stayed one night at Prospect Hill Plantation last week. We had a wonderful experience. We agree with a recent review that if you are looking for a resort atmosphere with high end technology and constant attention that Prospect Hill may not be your best choice. The Inn is located in a rural setting and includes a historic manor house...

We stayed in the groom's quarters 4th of July weekend. The service was exceptional, with breakfast brought to our room. The property has a rich history and beautiful grounds that we were able to walk around. It's about 20 minutes or so from Charlottesville, but we were still able to visit the town each day and take advantage of the...
