Historic home and cabins just east of Charlottesville. Couldn’t decide whether to stay in town or not -so glad we opted stay out of town. Due to Covid, breakfast is optional and brought out on a tray, either to your room or someplace else of your choosing. There are plenty of lovely spots on the grounds to eat. It’s a full breakfast and is delicious. This has a lovely mix of elegant and relaxed…long boxwood driveway, beautiful antiques in rooms and common areas, large porches to enjoy the countryside. It would be a good place for a romantic weekend or event. Not very far to civilization-about 5 to 10 minutes to the usual suburban stuff, even the inescapable Walmart.

I am a teacher- Zoom last year wore on me.....how wonderful it was to be at this inn! Truly breathtaking, peaceful and serene. Walking the grounds and interacting with the animals was soothing and like therapy! The inn keepers were responsive and a pleasure to talk to. The breakfast was decadent including the corn muffin and peach parfait!!!! Look forward to returning soon.....and throwing the ball to Rocky...again and again....because that is what life is all about---the simple things....

My wife and I along with another couple stayed at the Prospect Hill Bed and Breakfast Inn while visiting wineries in the C'ville area. It is located not far from Zion crossroads and is convenient starting point for the winery visits. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Prospect Hill. We both had rooms in the main house. Each was well appointed and had separate AC/Heat controls. We stayed in the Overton room which had a massive king size bed that slept well. Off the bathroom is a small balcony overlooking the side and backyard. On the main floor, coffee and ice are available. In the office, bottles of wine are available for purchase. The restaurant was not open as a result of COVID. A tasty breakfast was prepared each morning along with coffee, tea, and juices. The breakfast was delivered to you at your location of choosing (room, back porch, or gazebo). There were various places to relax on the property. The pool was very refreshing after a hard day of visiting the wineries. There is also a trail through the woods behind the house that is about 1 mile. The owners made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay at Prospect Hill during future trips to the C'ville area.

Just spent a wonderful and relaxing 4-day long weekend at Prospect Hill Inn. The minute we drove up the driveway to the historic house - we instantly felt the tranquility of the property and serenity of the grounds. It’s a wonderful place to disconnect and enjoy the rooms of the historic house along with the vast and beautiful grounds. The staff were all friendly and we felt very welcome. Rocky the lab, Collette the French poodle and Tom the cat, all made us feel like part of the family. The animals were delightful and well behaved, and they were not intrusive. Doc, the Inn Keeper, was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. He greatly added to the experience as he showed us around and told us about the history of the house, which was built the year George Washington was born in 1732. We stayed in one of the delightful cottages, and were served a delicious breakfast every morning on the outside porch of our cottage. The swimming pool was a welcome retreat after hiking the trails on the property, and visiting the alpacas and horses. In fact we were so taken by the relaxing atmosphere, we cancelled our plans in Charlottesville one of the days and spent the day hiking and swimming on the grounds at the Inn. Then for dinner, we had a wonderful picnic dinner in the gazebo area at the Inn with stunning views. We purchased super yummy food we at the local market 10 minutes away along with a fabulous bottle of wine we bought on property from the Inn. Prospect Hill Inn is very close to Charlottesville (about a 25-30 minute drive) for us to enjoy day events and dinner plans in Charlottesville. We would highly recommend Prospect Inn and we look forward to returning for another visit!

We just spent four days at beautiful Prospect Hill Bed & Breakfast. Doc, one of the owners couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. He gave us a brief tour with a bit of it’s long history. Our room was in a separate cottage that used to house the stable groomers and more recently bridal grooms. It is masculine with a lovely deck where Doc or his son would bring us breakfast every morning. We spent each evening drinking wine and enjoying the outdoors on this porch as well as usually entertaining “One-eyed Jack”, one of the two local cats. There is a beautiful nature trail where you might come across their Alpacas or Roosters. The main house is old and storied where you can sit and play board games or just use the WiFi and relax. Their restaurant was not open because of Covid precautions, but Doc will guide you to many local establishments. The pool looked inviting, but when we got home from visiting Wineries, Skyline Drive, Charlottesville, Monticello or eating we were too tired to swim. We recommend Prospect Hill as a relaxing, comfortable home while exploring this beautiful part of our country.
