Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately our visit was tainted by the fact that we had wait 2 hours to que to order and the receive our meal. The burgers which we ordered were very nice but definitely not worth the wait. I know it was Easter but maybe when ordering we could be told that it would be a very long wait. The place was lovely and packed out so very popular with locals and visitors.

This lovely old pub has been nicely restored and is a really nice place to sit and have a drink. The restaurant is unfortunately not well equipped to cater for those with dietary requirements. Their menu offers a couple of vegetarian options but on the two nights we went there, these options weren't available leaving the vegetarians in our group struggling to find something for dinner. When asked, the woman in the kitchen was very grumpy and said we could have potato salad (as a main meal????). She didn't offer to modify one of the other meals by replacing the meat/seafood with vegetables. She was very abrupt and had no time to even offer an alternative. I suggest that if you offer vegetarian options on your menu you make sure you have the ingredients available or be prepared to modify a meat dish to suit. It is 2023 after all!!! We won't bother coming back in future, and will cook our own food at our campsite instead.

Great place to stay. Beautiful location. Motorcyclists and others come here on a Saturday to enjoy the live music and great food. Rooms are very simple with shared bathrooms. Price in my mind was a little expensive but worth it, considering the location and atmosphere.

We were surprised by the lovely location and friendly people. Arrived on Australia Day and all the locals were helpful and made us welcome. Great spot and we’ll recommend it to others. Great spot to stop and then visit Barrington Tops for a drive.

This is a nice country pub in a nice village in a lovely area. Nothing more, nothing less. Visit if you are in the vicinity. Great place to chill out. The food and accommodation are also OK but I only had a small beer.

Great location in a quaint riverside village but poorly run. We were placed in an extremely small room with four bare walls, bare light globe, an old rug thrown over the window for shade, no lock on the door, no fire alarm (in a wooden pub) and a sign on the door that said "staff only". Thick dust on pedestal fan. Window could only open a fraction. No TV (ok for us). No side table, lamp, fridge or waste basket. We found out the previous chef used to sleep in this room but the new one preferred the bigger room next door! The son and daughter in law of the owners were staying and got a bigger room elsewhere. So seems staff and family are given priority over paying guests. Communal kitchen but no running water to refill kettle. Other guests or staff accessed our supplies in fridge even though they were packaged up. Food at the restaurant was fresh and reasonable quality. Staff were friendly - helped us out to sort out the arrangements to get to our tour the next day and pointed us to a nice spot by the river.

Great Australian outback pub, stayed the night in a room $80 for the wife & I, a great band, friendly hosts good food, but would never stay in the summer again it was 40c no air con in room & it was actually hotter in the room than outside temp, a fan just does not suffice! Winter would be perfect, they state free wifi, we didn’t see this at all & could not get a signal.

Visited the Victoria Hotel and Red Dog Café in early January 19. on a day trip from Gloucester. Mercury was North of 40 when we arrived, Beer was cold, Barman was very friendly and the Red Dog was cool and inviting. We bought our beers into the cafe. Our group of about ten adults and a couple of kids were fed quickly and the food was great. Did I mention the cold beer? pretty area and great atmosphere, If you are in the area, call in. You wont regret it.
