Excellent Mountain resort. Overall great experience. Very expensive at every turn. They will nickel and dime you for activities. Come prepared to spend more than usual on resort activities, fees, and food.

it was well worth the rate we paid and was an overall pleasant experience. It is a lovely setting in the beautiful mountains of Virginia and very historical. There are many ways to be entertain there depending on age and interests. Also sitting in the lobby in front of the fire place takes away the early December chill.

I enjoyed The Homestead as a child with my parents many years. Now, my husband and I go there for a peaceful, comforting break from the hectic world.. The staff seems to go out of their way to make sure our every need is accommodated and we are always treated with kindness and friendliness. It is a magical experience, especially... More

A great place to unwind and rest from a busy schedule. The historic aspect is special. The mineral pools are wonderful. Dining is excellent. We feel like we are very important guests when we stay at the Homstead.

... but still great even at a less gorgeous season. A truly grand hotel, but no shock and awe: the patina means you feel at home right away. Understated and genteel, but everything works! Broad range of dining options and lots of activities to get rid of the calories.

Lots of hidden secrets about this place. For example, if you pay in advance for dinner and activities, you may not be able to do those activities if you don't also RESERVE the dinner time and spot. Half of the lights in your room may be broken. Your dinner may be cold, and your work materials with laptop/critical information may... More

Wonderful visit at The Omni Homestead again this year! Lots of fun activities and delicious food! Grandchildren love seeing Santa and the elf stories were a hit. (They could schedule more times) This is a Thanksgiving tradition we all love! Thanks to all the staff who make it so nice!

What can you say about the homestead? It's a great setting, comfortable rooms and a real classical air. Downsides are it's a bit on the pricey side and getting to it really isn't easy, but it really is a great experience. If you have to visit one of the many Omni hotels, this has to be the one.

Stayed here two nights over Thanksgiving. Our room in the west wing of the older section of the resort was wonderfully cozy, clean, and quiet. The resort was charming with holiday decorations and many activities. The history tour was fascinating. Our meals at Sam Snead's and in the main dining room were all delicious, as was the Thanksgiving buffet in... More
