I am staying here for 3 days. So far it is such a comfortable and warming stay. Still trying to figure out laundry because the laundry mat is permenatly closed. It would be nice to have laundry facility here at the B&B so I didn't have to walk around town asking where I can do my laundry.

We were a group of 10 (9 adults and 1 child) who came to town for a weekend of fun riding the Virginia Creeper Trail and exploring the area. We have been coming to Abingdon or Damascus for several years to ride the trail and have fun in the area. Last year, we stayed at a different nearby property in...

My wife & I stayed at the Montgomery Homestead prior to my AT section-hike in June. The accommodations were clean but what impressed us the most was Susie's friendliness. She is an excellent host: during our stay, she went out of her way to assist a stranded mother-daughter with car trouble. There were several AT through-hikers staying there and they...

My wife and I have been staying here two times a year since 2005. Gaines and Susie are wonderful hosts and just plain good folks. We meet two or three other couples here every year and just have a great relaxing time. When we arrive if Susie is there, my wife Jerri, will holler at her, " MOM, were home"...

My husband and I and our 3 adult children stayed here prior to embarking on the AT for a 5 day journey. Susie was welcoming and, since we had the whole house to ourselves (they do not live there), we had the living room available for our 3 hour packing procedure. Unfortunately, our bedroom (downstairs) had an odor which interfered...

Great B & B to stat in if you're staying in town to ride the Virginia Creeper. The rooms are nice, the breakfast was excellent, and the host and hostess are extremely kind and helpful.

Montgomery Homestead can be counted on to offer friendly service and great breakfast. You will be treated like family when here...a home away from home. The Arts and Crafts style home contains beautiful old glass and woodwork which I appreciate as an artist. The location is in the middle of town , near bike shops and outdoor shops. Abingdon is...

My friends and I did a section hike of the Appalachian Trail and ended up hiking out a day early. We had no reservations so we just started walking down the main street and asking if anyone had a room. We found Montgomery Homestead and they took us in. Not only were the rooms clean and the beds comfortable, but...
