The Refuge Inn was a great stay. We stayed one night and opted for 2 queen beds as we had a child with us. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, quiet, and well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provide continental breakfast each morning, including hot and cold cereal, toast, bagels, juice, yogurt, and coffee/tea. What I like...

The location is perfect - just a bike ride away from the beach. Lovely shaded area with picnic table, bike racks and grills. Exceptionally clean rooms and friendly staff. The free breakfast is a nice touch. Great way to start off the day.

Liked the location, room nicely appointed. Check in time is 4 pm-a little later than most hotels. Did not care for the open breezeway configuration-made for many unwelcome insects getting into my room-tiny black flies, a cricket (maddening when trying to sleep), and several mosquitos (the last I rather expected in a tidal marsh area). I would have been less...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and thank you also for the compliments! Regarding insects, we don't usually encounter any problems with them getting into rooms. Perhaps the guest who checked-out right before you checked-in had used the sliding door extensively without making good use of the screen? Either way, we apologize for the crickets and...

The Refuge Inn exceeded my expectations in all ways. I frequently visit Ocean City , Maryland but am finding rooms expensive, roads and highways crowded and parking difficult. It no longer meets my needs. Decided to give Chincoteague a try. Selected the Refuge Inn as my home for the night. Based on my overnight stay, I have found my new...

We stayed at the Refuge in for just a weekend and it was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable, clean and beautiful. The staff was beyond helpful with restaurant recommendations, a map to help us find what we needed in town and help returning items we accidentally left in the room. The pool was clean and a great place to relax....

For the same price as most other hotels on the island, the Refuge Inn surprised us in its furnishings, accommodations, hospitality, and location. Each room is decorated differently with real headboards, dressers, and nightstands (not chain hotel products). The mini fridge was a huge help. The bathrooms were clean and updated. It reminded me more of a classy bed and...

The Refuge Inn is a breath of fresh air when it comes to lodging. Offers everything that the chain hotels offer with the addition of care and concern for their guests. Quiet, pleasant and so relaxing. They have a bike depot right on property to rent bikes and head out to the beach; an easy 3.5 mile ride. Included is...

I had stayed at the Refuge Inn 20 years ago and had never forgotten it. My return visit this week did not disappoint me. It felt like going home. The place had not changed except that the majestic pines were even more majestic. The room was spotlessly clean and elegantly appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful in every way....

This is a small (maybe 75 rooms) hotel/motel just before the bridge to the National Park. Impeccably maintained with all the amenities one would expect. The rooms on the side away from the parking lot face out on a lawn shaded by tall pine trees with grills and picnic tables, making a very pleasant place to relax in the evening....

The hotel is clean and charming, with rooms decorated in unique themes. The rooms feel more like a B&B, but with all the amenities of a hotel - nice indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, and sauna, and a breakfast room with a complimentary continental breakfast as well as a gift shop with a good selection of kids' toys. The ponies and...
