We stop here every year on our way back to Charlotte after Thanksgiving in New York. The rooms are wonderful, the food awesome, the service impeccable and the addition of the new cocktail lounge proves that our hosts will continue to provide an unparalleled experience. We've recommended the inn to many of our friends and no one has been disappointed.

We stayed here, hoping to find our home-away-from home getaway place. The grounds behind the inn and just in front of the inn were very pretty, though it turned out the inn was right on the main road. Though out in the country, you would still frequently hear the noise of cars going by, when sitting outside, so not the... More

We take our guests concerns seriously and into consideration. L’Auberge Provencale is located on a country highway which can be busy during peak hours. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your meal. Staff members were not informed of any dissatisfaction during your dining experience. We would have been happy to prepare you a new dish or provide... More

We stayed in the Chagall room, which is upstairs in the main house. Very charming and colorful room with fireplace. Gourmet 5 course dinner was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. They go out of their way to please their customers. I especially enjoyed the mushroom soup, short rib, and apple crumble. I also liked the octopus and salmon w... More

Celeste was wonderful and welcoming. The food was amazing, the chef put a nice twist on french food. The rooms were clean and the fireplace was so cozy. I planned this trip last minute to get away from DC for a bit of peace and quiet (end of election week) for my husband's birthday and it was perfect.

We decided at the last minute to spend our anniversary at L'Auberge Provencal. I would not call it a bed and breakfast but rather an inn. Staff was very pleasant. In fact, the smoke alarm outside our room started to beep when we returned from dinner and the staff responded immediately. Our preferred lodging choice is always a bed and... More

L'Auberge Provencale is located off of US 340- Lord Fairfax Highway, a connecting country road that does carry some passing trucks during peak hours. The road was much less travelled when we opened our doors 35 years ago, but our property's perimeter fencing and traditional Provencal curtains over every guest room door and window are provided to help reduce any... My wife and I spent a glorious 24 hours here to celebrate our actual 20th anniversary (We had already celebrated with our children over the summer in Europe). We stayed in the Lafayette Suite. It is a large suite in the original part of the home, very convenient to the dining area, centrally located bar, and the inn's living room.... More

First , the Inn is too close to the busy highway and the "pastoral view" has large trucks between you and it. The garden was not "lovingly tended" as advertised and almost empty of vegetables (in pictures on their site). There was no "working fireplace" as advertised though it was November and in the 40s at night (hadn't started to... More

Thank you for your review, as we take great care for the concerns of our discriminating travelers. However, we must refute some of your criticisms. L’Auberge Provencale is located along a country highway, which can be busy during peak hours. Likewise, our countryside location is to blame for lags in wifi-connectivity but we have boosters all around the property to... More

My wife and I stayed in the Lafayette Suite for an anniversary celebration and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The suite is beautifully appointed and the time we spent in the room was enhanced by a good friend surprising us with the "Virginia is for Lovers" package. Champagne awaited us on our arrival (already chilled) with a dozen roses... More

Thank you for your generous review and for sharing in our piece of Provence... without a passport! We are glad you caught a glimpse more into our family history too! Alain and Hunter thank you for your compliments and defense of the integrity of our inn. May we note too, that the Lafayette Suite's shower handle has since been replaced. More

Charming, peaceful, unique, surrounded by beautiful country and with an outstanding restaurant to top it all off, L'Auberge is where you go when you are treating yourself to something really special. We dined one evening in the more casual "tavern" - delicious food, friendly service, charming sommelier who will assist you without breaking your budget. On our second night we... More
