The Inn Overall : Super charming-that perfect updated Vermont Farmhouse thing! Tavern: Incredible -food is really good-the smokey califlower dip is super inventive....the lamb lollipops are ridiculous-not cheap, but tender and grilled to perfection....the beer offering is stellar and the bartenders have a YUGE selection of rye/bourbon and are pure professionals at their craft.....fun games for the family to play...

Friendly and accommodating owners and staff -- Heather and Andrew, Meredith, Heather (in the dining room), Jenny, and Chantelle -- all make you feel welcome. Great with answering questions and offering recommendations for anything in the Mad River Valley. Great food and beverage selections -- check out their local and VT beers on tap. Bar and game room an enjoyable...

We have stayed here several times and could not be more pleased. The rooms are very comfortable and well set up. The staff is great and makes you feel right at home. The food in the restaurant is very good (highly recommend the maple chicken). Breakfast is excellent and a perfect start before heading off to ski. Highly recommended

Zero amenities, non existing maid service, loud creaky floors, wafting sewage 2 out of 4 days during our stay, very overpriced considering the conditions of the Annex, an unhappy and rude owner, Heather, who chastised me after our friends inquired about our bill and peppered me with insults via Trip advisor and as a result the comments were removed after...

Hi Megan, Thanks for leaving yet another review on our social media sites :) You're very persistent! So here's the background to Megan's review: We had a group of five families visit our establishment over the President's Week holiday period. Megan (the reviewer) approached the hostess station and requested tables to seat 25 guests. She was holding a full size...

A couple buddies and I spent the weekend skiing at MRG. Stayed at the Barn for the first time. Average at best. Waitstaff was friendly. The breakfast chef and staff were very nice and efficient. Room was noisy and lacked any amenities. close to the mountain.

Hi P7429KC, Thanks for your review. We're thrilled you enjoyed our staff - we feel the same about them and we're happy to see guests are noticing. We agree it can be noisy at the Mad River Barn, especially on holiday weekends like when you stayed with us (according to your review comments, you visited us during the President's Week...

I surprised my husband with a 4 day stay at Mad River Barn and couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate his birthday. I was looking for something with a Vermont/ski lodge vibe and found exactly that at the MRB. Our room was perfect. I want the same decorator and stylist to come do my entire house. The...

Our 5th year returning to the Mad River Barn and each year gets better and better as the owners (Andrew and Heather) continue to reinvest into the property. Very friendly owners and staff, extremely comfortable beds, great atmosphere and good food. If your looking for a family friendly place to stay near Sugarbush you can't go wrong and definitely won't...

I have been coming to the Barn for the past 4 years. We can not say enough positive things about the Mad River Barn. As a family of five looking for a genuine Vermont ski experience, this place has delivered year after year. The staff, services, food and rooms are everything we could ask for. We make at least three...

The restaurant and pub offer a decent menu with some interesting selections and basic fare. Wine list is small and pricey. The place gets busy early and reservations are a must. Service was good and very fast - in fact our food wound arrive within minutes of ordering it.

We booked a 4 night stay at the Mad River Barn with 4 other families. We stayed in the Anex, which is a separate building about 100 yards from the main inn and restaurant. The room was setup with a queen bed and a bunk bed. No amenities: no coffee maker, no dressers, ridiculously small table, nowhere to set suitcases...

Hi Tom, Thank you for your review. In the four years we’ve owned the Mad River Barn, we’ve had the opportunity to meet wonderful families. We’ve made great friends. Unfortunately, our experience with your group was very challenging. You were upset with us when you were charged a cake plating fee for an outside sheet cake that you brought into...
