We just returned from four days of cross country skiing. The Inn was your perfect New England get away. The room was small but very homey. Randy, the Inn keeper was very informative and was a wealth of information, he also was the chef. The friendliness of the staff made you feel at home. The breakfast was the most diverse... More

We just got back from a super romantic Vermont vacation on which we got engaged! When planning we had looked for a comfortable, not too expensive inn to spend a week in Stowe and I feel like we hit the jackpot. We had chosen the Master Bedroom based on positive recommendations here. It was a very spacious yet cozy room... More

We spent two nights at The Gables just before Christmas hoping to ski at Trapps. Mother Nature had other plans sending rain and ice to Stowe, but we still had a great time. Randy was super accommodating and gave us some good restaurant suggestions. The rest of the staff was outstanding too, serving an excellent breakfast despite a power outage... More

We arrived late, in the midst of a snow storm and our host, Randy was there to greet us with a warm welcome. The inn is 150 years old with 12 inch wooden boards, creaky floors and comfortable furniture in the living room to sit around and chat! I've read other reviews where people have not been happy about the... More

We had a wonderful time - we booked one of their carriage house rooms for the fireplace and dog-friendliness, and they upgraded us to the riverview cottage, great little place with a dual-sided wood burning fireplace. The innkeeper are friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast is great, served in their restaurant so there is lots too choose from.

Yes it is old a floors sometimes creak. But it is over 150 years old. Outstanding breakfasts and innkeeper Randy goes overboard to be very helpful. He went out of his way to please and offered great suggestions for local dining. Location is perfect for visiting Stowe area.

We spent a lovely weekend at Gables Inn, just across the bike path in, spectacular surroundings. Jenny and Randy were very nice and helpful, recommending good restaurants and activities in the area. Our small room upstairs was clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back!

The hotel is super friendly and the breakfast is just great! I would personally recommend the steak as breakfast. You will need to pay $3 more for the steak but it's totally worth that! We enjoyed Vermont's beautiful fall!

We were looking for a cute place without breaking the bank. This has the potential but is not currently that place. Overall the place is dingy and run down. We stayed in carriage 3 - a king with whirlpool jets in the tub and a fireplace. Our bed was uncomfortable and noisy. We could also hear the people above us... More

The Carriage House room we had was huge and was separate from the main house. Although the property needs some TLC the owner was lovely. He recommended restaurants to us and was very friendly. His breakfast was superb with an amazing number of choices. I can see why local people go there for breakfast. The Inn is within easy reach... More
