We only stayed at the Middlebury Inn one night which is a shame, I would have enjoyed a second night. We checked in late in the afternoon and afternoon tea was available on a table in the lobby. Our room was on the second floor and the only elevator was an antique service elevator which they gladly operated for us...

We have had a beautiful fall and dinner (or dessert) on our Veranda was special. Now it's getting chilly and and the chairs and tables have been put away, but cocktails or dessert in front of our fireplace is just the ticket. Thank you for your nice comments and next time, please stay longer. Geoff Conrad General Manager

My husband and I spent three nights here visiting my daughter. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our "upgraded" room was still very basic. We stayed on the upper most floor in the original inn. The flights of steps did not bother us but may be too much for others. There is also a staff run elevator. We were in...

You stayed in one of the oldest buildings in Middlebury, which since 1827 has been the Post Office, Bank and and Insurance Agency. It was converted to guestrooms a number of years ago and the rooms, like many in our old Inn are of varying sizes and configurations. We're happy you enjoyed your stay and our Afternoon Tea. Hope to...

Our room gave us a definite motel feeling. Everything was dated and not in a charming way. Our sheets weren't sized correctly for the bed, so they slipped off the corners and bunched up constantly during the night. We complained to the front desk, but there was no discernable improvement or change. The service was sub-par and the breakfast was...

I'm sorry that your stay with us was so disappointing. I always wish our unhappy guests would make sure they speak to a manager so we can remedy the problem right away. It sounds like you made our staff know of your concerns and shame on us for not following up. It also sounds like you weren't aware that you...

We visited the Middlebury Inn recently and had the most wonderful time. The Inn is beautiful full of period antiques. The rooms are very comfortable with great beds. There is a restaurant and bar which are both very good. The Inn itself is an experience but the staff is exceptional. Everyone including front desk, bellman, housekeeping, servers and bartenders are...

I'm sorry you couldn't escape the southern heat - it was quite a warm spell in August this year. We're seeing this more and more, but I'm happy you were able to relax and enjoy our Afternoon Tea which we serve daily, year round in our lobby from 2:30 to 5:30pm. I'll make sure to let my 'exceptional staff' read...

We spent 3 nights at the Inn in mid August. With the temperature hitting close to 90 it was great to step into the comfortably cool Inn in the center of town. Nice welcoming lobby and friendly staff got us off to a great start. We had room 104, one flight up. Nice room, double full beds with comfortable mattresses....

Four out of Five is pretty good, thanks! We try to deal promptly with the few noise complaints we get (This is a an old solid structure that insulates the rooms very well), but of course we're not always able to solve the problem. I'm happy you discovered Gloria and Barr Hill Gin, both are great products of Vermont. Those...

We just visited the Inn again. My husband went to Middlebury College, and it was great as always. The Inn is old but it's comfortable, especially in the original building. We enjoy every visit, but this one was positively influenced by Patricia at the front desk. From her help reserving the room, through her efficiency in helping us get passes...

A hotel manager can't ask for a better employee than Patricia. Not only is she a loyal long term employee, but she knows the area and can always point you to what you're looking for. We love it when Middlebury College grads come back to visit. Most of them stayed at the Middlebury Inn at one time or another. Why?...

Comfortable room and bed, location was fantastic, walk to all. Picturesque. Room was small, the size of a modest bedroom, and a little noisy (end room).Very clean. Would definitely stay there again. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Did not eat on premise- lots of great options to eat in walking distance.

Of course we love it when our guests join us in Morgan's Tavern for a meal, but truth be told, there are a number of great restaurants nearby, as you so correctly pointed out. Also within walking distance is Middlebury College, Henry Sheldon Museum, Danforth Pewter and all sorts of shopping choices. We hope we see you again soon. Geoff...

First our room was huge. Plenty of parking and food that quite frankly was great. Quite a few historical items to look at two if you're into that sort of thing. Wish we had more time to walk around the neighborhood is this a beautiful buildings and historical significance in this town.

Now that you've visited with us for a family wedding, please come back when you can enjoy the area. I'm happy you finally stayed at the Middlebury Inn and that you got a good nights sleep. I appreciate all of your comments, both good and not so good. Thank you for your nice review. We often discuss whether we should bring the elevator into the 21st century or not. We realize it can be an inconvenience for some but it also is a source of much positive comments and having taken my share of guests up and down, the reactions are all of fond memories.
