Since the Equinox claims to be a "luxury" hotel, I expected the same out of our Townhouse King Suite located just behind the main house of the hotel. It was disappointing, at best. Although the room was large, the finishings in the kitchen and bathroom were dated and dirty. (See attached photos of bathroom) The shower was impossibly small and...

We stayed in a Townhouse suite room for a Girls' Weekend. (3 people in this room.) The suite room is on the second floor - note there is no elevator so you will need to climb a good flight of stairs to access the room. (We were with others and they were unable to do the flight of stairs and...

We stayed at The Inns at Equinox (NOT the Orvis House) over Columbus Day weekend and the following week. During the holiday weekend our son visited from college in New Hampshire and the pull-out sleep sofa was very comfortable for him (and he is TALL). The rooms are spacious on the upper floor (e.g. a "townhouse suite") and met all...

We booked a queen bed townhouse through Expedia and just checked into the room. The photos on the website are misleading and the room is basically the size of a box. The king sized rooms are better in that they are at least the size of an actual room but in general the townhouses are not great and much less...

Regardless of the season this is a must stay in Vermont for a look at life the way it used to be coupled with modern amenities. The property has lots of nooks and crannies for reading or chatting as well as great outdoor fire pits.

Stayed for the weekend at Manchester & were very impressed all-round by the Equinox. Excellent service, amenities, appointments. Plan on returning soon to this 5-star resort in one of our favorite places in Vermont. Thank you!

Everything was excellent from the time we arrived up until check out. We were cheerfully greeted by the valet who welcomed us and took our luggage, parked the car. Check in was easy and we were upgraded to a room in the main inn. The room was overlooking the mountains. Immaculate room with all the amenities. All the staff pleasantly...

The Equinox never disappoints. From the complimentary Sunday morning cider donuts to the spotless rooms, I always suggest the Equinox for anyone traveling to New England. In particular, Chris at the front desk is superb! The entire front desk staff (and Frank at the bar) couldn't be more friendly, helpful, or accomadating. If I could give the Equinox ten stars,...

Overall, our stay at the Equinox was very good. The service in the main building was great, and we enjoyed our meals and drinks at the hotel restaurant and bar. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurants were friendly and welcoming. Parking was a breeze, and the location was a quick drive to Manchester Village. Our biggest...

My wife and I stayed at the Equinox over a long weekend to escape from the daily grind. We could not have selected a better, more restful destination. The staff was cordial and friendly from the parking attendants/bellhops to management at the front desk to the dining staff. We stayed in a very comfortable, quiet room, had wonderful meals, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Inns at Equinox offer a traditional way to experience the charm of southern Vermont with access to all of the amenities of the Equinox Resort. The 1811 House, which is the former home of Abraham Lincoln's granddaughter, is an excellently maintained romantic country inn offering soaring mountain views and a glimpse into history. Retreat to one of 13 unique guestrooms, which delight guests with graceful details, such as canopied beds, private porches, authentic antiques, and prized artwork. The 1811 House is open seasonally, Memorial Day weekend through the end of October. The Inns thirty newly renovated townhouses have a fresh new look. Designed by sought-after interior designer Mitchell Gold for the Bob Williams Collection, this new decor includes new sofas, furnishings, light fixtures, reclaimed floor wood for side tables and area photos from local photographers. A 75-yard stroll from the resort brings you to The Dormy House, situated just off of the first tee box of our golf course. Two distinct suites offer comfortable sleeping and dining quarters with the feel of an upscale Vermont country home. A private patio is equipped with outdoor furniture for an impromptu barbecue. ... more   less
