We had an excellent time here. We stayed 5 nights and were upgraded to a suite. Love the view of the pond and mountains. Room is clean and spacious. Fireplace is awesome. Really enjoyed our private jacuzzi after a day of skiing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is walking distance to restaurants. We will be back and will recommend to our friends.

I recently stayed at the Palmer House and my experience could not have been any better. Staff was very welcoming and polite, rooms were in pristine condition and the environment was beautiful. During my stay, my group encountered a personal emergency and the staff was 100% supportive and offered to aid us in any of our problems. Could not have asked for a better place to stay in the area.

We spent 4 nights notes in 2 suites as a family and had a wonderful stay over Christmas!! Friendly, helpful staff. Clean updated suites !! Comfortable, elegant and beautiful inside with everything we needed. Fireplace was a unexpected plus and assistance in getting a forgotten item to us was outstanding service. We would recommend PH and will definitely go back again and again!!! Thank you 😊

For the prices being asked this facility leaves a lot to be desired! The geographical location is beautiful but that’s where the positive part of the review ends. The housekeeping of the room was disappointing...hair found in the shower, bed was made but very wrinkly, the remote for the tv was found under an end table, the WiFi didn’t work, indoor pool was cold, breakfast was very minimal with no coffee. Other than a positive encounter with a maintenance man that helped us with a TV issue (Ben, Ken?), staff was disengaged, seemingly alouf...to the point of being rude. One lady working the front desk was talking to a coworker, while telling a personal story, she was repeatedly swearing. Several of the employees were smoking...while I’m not against that per se, it was unprofessional and in areas that guests walk through. For the price, there are other options in the area. The next time we come to Manchester we will be staying elsewhere.

We love Manchester Vermont and have stayed for the last 15 years at the Palmer House Resort, which is actually an upscale motel on expansive, beautiful grounds. Before this year, we were very satisfied with the the low-key, relaxed nature of this place. However, it's changed hands and is now run by a national hotel chain...and it's no longer good, and absolutely not worth the hotel price, again for what is essentially a motel. Most of the rooms are in long singe story ranch style buildings, like a motel. You park your car outside the door of your room, which opens to the outside. Among other things, the internet did not function on any of our devices (two mobiles and an iPad). The TV screen was relatively small for its distance from the beds, and most of the channels were not HD. We were left only one roll of toilet paper and had to go to the office to get another one after finding none more in the bathroom. As these are COVID times, we were not told about the "hotel's" polices regarding changing sheets, towels, etc. In other hotels we have stayed in recently (being COVID restricted to driving range within the Northeast), they have uniformly told us that if we wanted new linen etc., we were to tell the front desk the night before. The next morning, we put the old linens in a bag supplied by the hotel, and new ones were delivered to our door, with the bag with the dirty things picked up. Not at the Palmer House. Also, virtually all hotels, especially those charging market rates, provide bottles of plain bottled water as an amenity. No longer at the Palmer House. This morning, I passed by the front desk to ask for a single bottle of plain water from the several ones sitting behind the desk. I needed bottled water (not tap water) for a particular medication, having run out of the ones we took with us. They said, no, you can't have one; it's reserved for members of the hotel chain's membership program! So, we went to the Walgreen's down the road to get one. Now, if this place were a simple motel, I could not expect this minor amenity. However, the Palmer House now fancies (and advertises) itself as an upscale hotel, with prices to match. We love Manchester and Vermont in general. We will return, but not to the Palmer House "Hotel".
