The room was quite large with a king size bed and more than adequate seating for two guests. Good shower and bath, very clean. There was a microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast was of high quality and elegantly served. It is quite a large establishment but our visit was in May, off season and not crowded. We got a good...

We stayed here for 1 night on a short weekend fly fishing trip. The 2 rooms were huge and comfortable, quiet and very clean; plenty of hot water too. We parked right in front of our rooms. Once inside - room was a bit musty but we opened window and patio door and soon the musty smell was gone. The...

Calling an oLd dated moteL a resort is faLse advertising. Palmer House is operating on a shoestring budget. Although there are air conditioning units punched through the wall they aren't turned on until later towards summer no matter how hot and stuffy the room is based on the weather. The bathroom measured 2 by 3 and was claustrophobic I would...

Hi Francine, I am sorry that you did not find your stay satisfactory. Due to the unpredictable weather in Vermont during April we do not start air conditioning until this weekend. I am sorry that we can not just flip a switch but it takes a couple of days to start the units. The night you stayed with us the...

We stayed here for 1 night on a short ski trip to Stratton Mountain which is about a 25 minute drive from the hotel. We had a huge room with a great view of nature and a king bed. You could pull up the car right to the door, which was a perk for unloading and reloading the car. The...

When I was a child, my mother would bring me to the Palmer House and we would eat in its street-level deli which is now a Starbucks coffee. When I was older, I would bring my child up to the lobby and sit, and read him Greek mythology. And now, as an adult, I return and find those same beautiful...

The location is excellent! You can walk to town for shopping, food and drinks. We were about 25 minutes away from Stratton mountain. The room itself was clean and large. The decor was a little outdated; for example, we had some problems with the thermostat getting stuck and the room temperature exceeding 80 degrees, but my husband was able to...

We spent a long weekend at the motel. The rooms are nice but DO NOT let them put you above the pool. You can hear everything. Screaming and yelling from people playing all day and the pool closes late at night. My tow kids could not sleep due to the screaming. Plus their rooms have no pull outs beds in...

It was great staying at Palmer House! It was exactly what I was looking for! Amy, from the front desk, was super helpfull. The hotel has great location in Manchester: it is close to restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, gas station, stores and to Stratton Mountain (where we went to ski). Cozy room - clean; enough space; every time I opened the...

Stayed here unexpectedly during a snowstorm. Room was much larger and more nicely appointed than expected Rutland a 50's style motel. Very clean. Desk person was quite welcoming. Nice place for a reasonably priced overnight stay connected compared to other prices we checked in Manchester.
