Killington is a beautiful place, and the Hillside Inn has a nice location. Hotel is just normal, at least it was clean. We had a room on the first floor and the noice is quite high as you can hear persons passing by. What the hotel should not say is that breakfast is included as this was not breakfast! A couple of old muffins and that was all…..!

The (more expensive)chain hotels in Rutland are all on the main drag meaning none could be as quiet as this one. On showing up w/ AAA and AARP cards was given a rate that was fair and less than Booking.com. Room was pretty standard and i was sorry there wasnt a King but it was the least expensive place we stayed in 8 nights ( by a lot), which was welcome. I had no idea even a continental breakfast was available...which if we'd been told, we would have availed ourselves of (& i'd then have given them 4 out of 5(.

Where to begin. We were given no directions/instructions upon check in, no elevator in sight and we were on the third floor, no decaf coffee available, only two sugars, no hair conditioner, something all over the shower floor, no air conditioning that we could find, the light streamed through around the curtains, since we had to have the windows open we hear every noise outside, The cement on the walkways were repaired very poorly, they still used regular keys, the bed was so bad I had to fold the comforter and lay on it, and the fridge didn't work. The good things consisted of they had wifi, a flat screen tv and location. It was easy to find. that's it!

We only paid $70 plus taxes and fees. It had a couch, which had crumbs all over it. It had a 3 drawer dresser, and armoire, and small kitchenette (which didn’t have any dish ware at all). The kitchenette has a sink, microwave and mini fridge. It had a desk and chair and a separate room for the toilet and shower. We are on the second floor, and being older, we had to lug our suitcases and other bags up a flight of stairs, which was a struggle. An elevator would have been great. It’s definitely dated, but we can survive for the one night we are here. I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night.

Stairs going to second floor very dangerous. Iron rods exposed. Surprised the town hasn't inspected the property. Room was just fair lumpy beds. I probably wouldn't return. Would look for something much nicer

When planning our trip to Vermont to drive up Route #100 we decided to spend two nights in Killington. Knowing Killington is an area where skiing is “King”, we also knew that we were in the off season. I checked through what was available in the area and what kind of accommodations we could find for the four of us (two couples traveling together). I fetched up on the Hillside Inn which had two rooms available so I booked them. They were not expensive rooms and the bottom line is, you get what you pay for. The King sized bed in our room had a definite sag toward the middle and the sheets on the bed barely could be stretched to go around the mattress. That meant that they popped off during the night. The top sheet wouldn’t tuck in at the bottom either. We were in a smoke free room but I’ll bet real money people had smoked in it. It’s hard to pull that one by a non smoker. What this is is a room which probably was heavily used by whole families during the ski season. It had been over used and it was tired. Given the chance to book a room here again, I’d probably go toward Rutland and take my chances there. It isn’t far. Oh, and there were NO USB ports. What traveler in this day and age doesn’t need at least one USB port? …

The room smelled like an ash tray!!! The door knob came off when trying to open the door!! We told the guy at the desk .... him responds was “just put it back on.” The bathroom had mold!! The coffee pot had mold!!! The beds were not even on the frames!!! And it felt like we were sleeping on and old balled up blanket on the floor!!! We left early and they didn’t even care!!!!!

For the price this is a great hotel with a clean and spacious room, nice staff, comfortable bed, and a great location. I frequently stay in 5 star places for work and personal travel but I was very comfortable here.

Beds are HORRIBLE. no free breakfast just continental junk. NO HEAT OR NO AC IN ROOMS. I booked on Expedia so couldn’t change reservation of 6 nights so got shafted to stay on premises or loose my money. Front desk lady was rude and could care less. Got charged a resort fee of 5% hahahahahahahaha FAR FROM RESORT ..rip off don’t waste your money plenty of decent affordable places in Killington to stay..stay away from this joke of a hotel.. more like a nightmare motel.

this hotel is just fine...I was a bit worried after reading some of the horror story reviews but honestly, can't understand the vitriol. we stayed three nights and for our purposes (skiing) the hotel suited our needs well. yes, motelish, yes dated decor, yes, overflow parking lot requires a few extra steps, yes very basic breakfast. nevertheless, the location is amazing (15 min tops to any killington base lodge and 10 min to any of the valley's nightlife, restaurants), the facilities are clean, price is reasonable and the staff service is good. (we had an issue with the shower controller, the manager was there in under 3 min..., rooms made up well early every day, friendly housekeepers). The only significant negative I can claim is the fact that temperature cannot be controlled in each room independently...and tends to the warm side by default. to this problem I devised an easy solution: opened the window a bit. again: this is a basic hotel and we came to ski. With proper expectations we found it perfectly suitable.…
