Highly recommend staying here, a genuinely lovely experience. The owners are helpful and friendly, the facilities are great. We stayed in Campanula, the woodwork alone is worth a visit. We would definitely go back.

We stayed at Campanula with a family of 8 (4 adults, 4 small kids) and enjoyed the experience very much - comfortable and cozy. The house is tastefully designed, but life at Campanula is best enjoyed on the wrap around porch, offering amazing views of a very special place in Vermont. To add to the homely qualities of this location,...

Hello Malcolm and Family, Thank you for the thoughtful review, yes Windekind is a place that makes us stop, think and enjoy the world around us. This happens, in part, because of all the wonderful persons who stay here and contribute their experiences and knowledges to this landscape. I can't think of a better example of this phenomenon then you...

We selected Windekind as the venue for our wedding. Windekind is so much more than just a wedding venue, and partly because of this, our wedding felt like so much more than just a wedding. It felt like home to us--which is remarkable, since we were only there for a few nights. The owners made us feel comfortable enough for...

Emily and Tyler, What a happy review, we learn about the impact of the farm and ourselves on your wedding. You capture Windekind's value just as we intend. We particularly appreciate your thoughts about trust and working together which was so effective at your wedding. Please give yourselves at least 80% of the credit, you were so much fun to...

Almost every time I come to Vermont for work I stay at Windekind. It is gorgeous, comfortable and feels like home. I have stayed in all three units which were all full of character. Over the past year I have had four stays at Windekind and never once have I turned on the television. Nothing beats drinking a glass of...

Hello Michael, Thank you for the thoughtful review, you know how much we enjoy your stays here as part of your work. I read your words carefully, they inform and inspire our future directions that we hope you are part of. I was wondering if we should return the TV to the store? All the Best Mark

Windekind Farm was the perfect space for my large group of kids (8) to connect with nature and each other this summer. Mark and Marijke have lovingly created a magical playground of 9 majestic gardens, a few thoughtfully placed buildings nestled into a hillside, a miniature train big enough for children to actually drive that meanders for an impressive distance...

Hello Jeanette, You know what a delight it was to have you and the girls here and witness your great program in action and be part of it with a little lesson on railroads. Windekind Farm was a blessing beyond anything we could have imagined. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this breathtaking beauty and had the fortunate opportunity to stay in both the cottage and studio. Our goals were to hike the mountains, bike around Lake Champlain, eat farm to table food, play music in Burlington and receive spiritual nourishment from Vermont's...

Sometimes a review comes in that describes just who we aspire to be and how we envision Windekind at its best. Of course it is delightful when we make this connection explaining to us why we do this and what the rewards are. There is always room for improvements, reviews like this one helps show us the way. This is a rural getaway overlooking rolling hillsides, surrounded by mountains and fall foliage. The rideable model train was a highlight for our son. The views and easily-accessed nature trails were mine. Actually the picnic on a hillside covered with strawberry plants, was mine. Or perhaps it was the cottage which was charming--truly charming. Or the hosts who were also...

We were looking for a place to get away for a couple of days. Two couples looking to get away together without kids (though kids are very welcomed). Excellent Location - It's 40 mins from Burlington, Stowe and Montpelier. The Farm - We stayed in both the Studio and Breidablick and I’ve honestly never been in a rental cottage this nice.
