Not use to writing a poor review but this stay was not good. My wife and I stayed for one night in September, in all honesty, it was one night too long. This stop was one of 8 on our New England Road trip and sadly was the worse. When we were shown our room, were very disappointed at the old,...

Pleasant stay with Sheldon and Francie. The Tavern was lively and the smell of the food was amazing but sadly we didn't have enough time to eat there. Felt like home and yet we were welcome there by the family. Beds clean and comfortable, basic comforts that you would normally find. Sheldon made us feel right at home for sure....

Chester is a beautiful little village in stunning countryside, however the Stone Hearth Inn was in dire need of decorating and updating. the attic room we had, had dusty floors,an un aired bed, a shower cubicle with dirt tide marks, and no facilities such as a glass in the bathroom, hairdryer, etc. The "breakfast" was a joke, one waffle, a...

At first, I was not sure why my friend had decided to book at the Stone Hearth... I did not regret her decision !! We had requested an early booking: no problem. We had our Saturday night dinner in the Tavern: great choice of drinks, and excellent menu. The waiting staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable, We shared the BOOM-BOOM...

Just returned from a two night stay at the Stone Hearth. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable. We chose this inn for its attached tavern and we did not regret it! The tavern was lively and food was delicious. It was nice to get changed and simply wander down for dinner. Our 10 year old enjoyed the air hockey...

We had an awesome time. The owners were so kind and helpful. They told us about shopping in Woodstock, the Vermont Country Store , and where we could find a place to go ice skating. Our room was cozy and comfortable. The tavern downstairs was convenient and friendly and the food was delicious! We would highly recommend it!

Came on New Years Eve with a party of six.(three couples) Prix Fix menu of 3 courses $40., but was advertised on Facebook as four courses. No dessert. Shrimp Cocktail was three small shrimp. It was ok, but nothing special. Poutine was like Mac Donald's French fries with grated cheddar instead of Cheddar Curds, plus gravy was lumpy. My Prime...

This place is so quaint and relaxing from your everyday life. The accommodations are comfy, food is great from their wings to the Saturday morning waffles. Many good craft beers on tap and Katie makes the best hot buttered rum. The owners are nice and friendly as well as all their staff. We are having a wonderful mini vacation. It...

We were tired from an eventful weekend and this was our last stop before home. There is a tavern on the premises, so we were able to have drinks and dinner without having to travel anywhere else. We were able to relax and get a good night's sleep. The next morning we were served a delicious breakfast of French toast...

The Stone Hearth Inn was just what we were looking for! The owners were very nice and accommodating and the room was comfy! In the mornings we were seated in a lovely area overlooking a beautiful field-like back yard. The coffee was good and each morning, in addition to fresh fruit and the choice of cereals, we were given a...
