We arrived on a misty, overcast day but were warmly welcomed by caretakers, Nancy & Ralph and a crackling fire in the hearth! We had intended to stay in one of the upper rooms but were pleased to hear the large bedroom downstairs was available so we took that and couldn't have been happier. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, and...

We had such a nice visit at Applewood. We chose Applewood because of the location and reviews. We had decided to spend the day visiting farms as part of the Vermont Cheese Trail. We were looking for a unique way to view Vermont and get away from Boston for the weekend. As soon as we arrived Nancy had the door...

My husband and I were visiting family just across the border in New York and decided to stay here instead of one of the chain hotels in the area. We couldn't have been happier with that decision. Nancy and Ralph were incredibly hosts and made us feel welcome and like part of the family. The inn itself is beautifully restored...

My husband and I stayed overnight at Applewood Manor during a trip to Rutland to view the folliage. The main house was built in the 1700's, with the owners living in a more recent addition. We stayed in Delia's room on the 2nd floor. There are 5 bedrooms; 1 on the first floor and the other 4 on the second...

A very beautiful lodging with very friendly and helpful people taking care of us -- a wonderful experience! This was one of the best bed and breakfasts I've ever stayed at. Sister and I loved this B&B - full of charm, beautiful living room, den, dining room - fine china and glassware, and exceptional breakfast, prepared by Ralph. Nancy is a delight. The grounds are supurb, the white wicker porch area, squeaky clean. Really enjoyed Sarah's Room, with the light colors, wing chairs, fine view. Would love to come again. Jayne...
