Sufficiently libated the wife and I headed a bit up the mountain towards the Deer Valley Ski resort into the Chateaux, a beautiful hotel with wonderously beautiful views as far as the eye can see. Deer Valley is a place often over looked by outsiders...More

You could walk, but coming back up the hill to the hotel would be very very tiring because the hills are pretty steep. Especially the very last hill to the hotel. It is very safe to walk there at night. I wouldn't worry about that at all. My estimate would be it's a good mile to mile and a half to downtown Park City. It would be downhill all the way and up steep inclines and hills all the way back to the hotel. One option would be to walk down to town if you want to enjoy the beautiful scenery and outdoors and see if the shuttle will pick you up to bring you back. If you're a hiker and in really good shape the walk back might not be a big deal to you at all. If you're coming from a much lower altitude then the hike back will be a killer for you. Hope that helps.
